Mark Hanaman

Instructor

Mark Hanaman is an aspiring teacher who works as a math teacher at Jefferson High School. Growing up, math and science were his favorite subjects in school and this led him to get a bachelor's degree in computer science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He is currently working on a master's of teaching arts at Rockford University as he works at Jefferson and Mathnasium. Outside of mathematics, his hobbies include camping, hockey, and tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer.

Erik Hendriex

Instructor

Erik has always been fascinated by numbers and how we apply math to the real world. He is currently a student studying physics at Rock Valley College working to obtain a degree in physics and further his education. Once he has gained a Masters, he plans to dive into research and possibly teach physics. Erik tutors subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English, and has been tutoring since 2023. When he tutors, he is not only helping others but also improving his overall skill—that’s what Erik enjoys most about tutoring. He believes everyone knows how to solve any type of problem, so he asks questions to “dig” that knowledge out. In his free time Erik enjoys practicing the guitar, playing basketball and reading.

Selin Dik

Instructor

Selin is a math enthusiast with a dedicated passion for helping students develop a strong math foundation. Growing up with parents who are math professors at Rockford University, Selin has always been surrounded by a deep love for mathematics. As one of the top students in her class in the Gifted Program at Auburn High School, she has excelled in rigorous courses such as AP Calculus AB, Trigonometry, Statistics, and more. Beyond academics, Selin is an active community member, serving as the Vice President of Auburn High School’s Key Club and frequently volunteering with children and families at local museums, camps, etc. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis and giving back to the community through service projects.

Ekaterina Dmitrieva

Instructor

Ekaterina has grown up around a love for math and a passion for teaching, with her mom having a Ph.D and being a math professor for some time, and passing the knowledge and skills down to her. She has competed in many math competitions such as the American Math Competition (AMC), Math Kangaroo, and has even won first place at a MathCounts competition in middle school. Her love for math is accompanied by an endless love for kids and has been volunteering at her church nursery for over 5 years. She graduated Auburn High School in 2024 ranked top 4 in her class, having taken all AP Calculus classes available, and is currently studying Physics and Biology at Marquette University. In her free time, Ekat enjoys running competitively, playing volleyball, painting, and hiking with family and friends.

Cory Godin

Instructor
Math has been apart of Cory’s life since he was a small child, not only wanting to experience as much math as he can, but also to share it with anyone who will listen. Cory is very happy to be able to share this passion with whoever he tutors. Cory has graduated from Rockford University with a double major in mathematics and physics. He now works as a math and physics teacher at Keith Country Day School. He hopes that he learns from the Mathnasium students as much as they learn from him. Outside of mathematics, Cory enjoys playing sports with friends, cooking, and writing.

Terrance Hart

Terry is glad to be an instructor for Mathnasium as a way to fulfill his passion for teaching. He is a physics instructor at Rockford University and has taught physics at Rock Valley College.
