Mathnasium of Rock Hill's personalized algebra tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
Following personalized learning plans, we guide students from concrete to abstract thinking, mastering integers, fractions, order of operations, and variables while developing the algebraic reasoning foundations critical for Algebra 1.
Students receive caring support through multi-step equations, linear functions, graphing, and word problems, building both skills and confidence in this pivotal course that shapes their entire math trajectory.
We prepare students for advanced coursework by tackling fast-paced topics—factoring polynomials, quadratics, exponentials, and logarithms—strengthening problem-solving abilities needed for Precalculus and college-level math.
At Mathnasium of Rock Hill, our specially trained math tutors help students of all skill levels learn and master algebra, from foundational concepts to advanced algebraic equations.
We work with students enrolled in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2, providing personalized, face-to-face instruction in a caring and fun group environment. Our tutors meet each student where they are, helping them fill in knowledge gaps, (re)build foundational skills, and build the confidence to tackle new challenges.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines diagnostic assessments, personalized learning plans, and proven interactive techniques to teach algebra in a way that makes sense.
Our tutors start with what each student already knows and build upon that foundation, introducing algebraic concepts gradually to promote deep understanding and long-term retention. By focusing on clarity, logic, and step-by-step learning, we help students truly understand — and even enjoy — how algebra works.
Students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that helps us pinpoint their current skill level, learning style, and academic goals. Using these insights, we create a personalized learning plan that addresses each student’s specific needs, whether they’re looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead.
Our tutors follow each plan closely and adapt instruction in real time, ensuring steady progress and lasting confidence. Students advance at a pace that allows them to truly understand the concepts they’re working with and develop a deeper appreciation for algebra.

Mya Aun
Center Director
Mya Aun is a lifelong learner with a deep-rooted love for quantitative reasoning who is passionate about advocating for STEAM education. Her academic path is anything but ordinary: she holds a B.S. in Mathematics summa cum laude from UNC Charlotte, a B.G.S. from the University of Michigan with emphases in Microbiology, Statistics, and Chemical Engineering, and an A.F.A. in Visual Arts from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She also graduated valedictorian of Cheboygan Area High School. This diverse blend of analytical rigor and creative insight fuels her mission: to make math meaningful and even fun for every student. Currently pursuing an online M.S. in Engineering Education from NC State University, Mya is driven by the belief that effective learning bridges research and real-world relevance. Her graduate work focuses on transforming how students experience math—not as a set of abstract rules, but as a powerful language for modeling the world.
Before launching her own Mathnasium Learning Center in Rock Hill, Mya experienced the transformative power of the Mathnasium Method firsthand as an Instructor. Now, as Center Director, she leads with empathy and expertise, crafting individualized learning plans that go far beyond memorization. Her goal is to build confident and curious problem-solvers who do not just succeed in math—they thrive.
Whether helping students gain numerical fluency or guiding them to excel on exams like the SAT/ACT, Mya ensures every child is equipped with both the tools and the mindset to tackle challenges with clarity and creativity. For her, the greatest reward is seeing a student's eyes light up in that “aha” moment—a spark that reflects understanding, confidence, and the joy of learning.
