Q: What is the first thing a new student would do upon entering Mathnasium?
A: Be welcomed at the door by the CD and explain to them how we structure regular sessions.
Q: What does the first session look like for new students?
A: We explain each section of their binder. Each instructor will introduce themselves and make the student feel welcome.
Q: Have you seen a student’s attitude towards math change?
A: Yes. One of our students' parents told us that Avery was very behind and nervous about math when she first came in. She was in a serious car accident that caused her to fall behind in school. After attending Mathnasium, Avery has started to get excited about math again. Her mom tells us that Avery feels much more confident in math and enjoys coming to her sessions.
Q: What do you wish students and parents knew before they brought their student to your center?
A: Focusing sessions solely on homework and school-related topics can be beneficial in the short term. However, neglecting a students' learning plan and ignoring their foundational gaps will only cause them to get worse with time.
