Verdi is from Taiwan and came to the United States for college. He graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development. During college, he started to tutor students in Mandarin and math. Watching students grow is his greatest achievement, especially seeing students willing to speak a few sentences in Mandarin. Growing up in the eastern culture and receiving higher education in the western country, he experienced two very different educational styles, especially with math. He wishes to not only build students' confidence, but also help them enjoy math, as he believes math skills are very important life skills. Verdi loves to eat, so during his free time, he searches on Yelp and tries to find restaurants in the area where he can try new foods.

Hello! I'm Francis, and I completed my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at CSULB last year. I joined Mathnasium to support kids in exploring STEM careers, because there can never be too many engineers, scientists, or anyone else in the STEM field. Witnessing that "aha" moment when students grasp new concepts is incredibly rewarding for me. Outside of tutoring, I indulge my passion for trying out new restaurants and savoring delicious food. Traveling and gaining fresh experiences are also among my favorite pastimes.
