Roel is a credentialed high school math teacher, with 16 years of teaching experience. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics from BIOLA University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching. Roel has a long history in education. He has over 20 years of combined tutoring and teaching experience. He was an AVID Peer tutor as a high school senior. He continued for four more years as an AVID College Tutor to students in 9th - 12th grades, tutoring math. Roel's deep passion is playing a role in the academic success of each child for them to achieve their goals and dreams.
Robert is a 2023 University of California, at Los Angeles graduate (Go Bruins!). He double majored in Applied Mathematics and Political Science. Math has always been one of Robert’s favorite subjects and he knows whatever career he ends up in, he’ll be doing a lot of math. Robert is excited to be back tutoring at Mathnasium as he loves helping kids better understand math and hopefully even enjoys doing math. In his free time, Robert enjoys hanging out with his friends and family, watching movies, and playing (and winning) board games.
Alicia is a credentialed middle school mathematics teacher with ten years of experience. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her Single Subject teaching credential from Chapman University in Orange, CA. Alicia believes in teaching in a way that helps students retain important math concepts throughout their educational career. Outside of teaching, Alicia enjoys spending time with her dogs and volunteering at a dog rescue.
Andre is a second year at Saddleback College studying physics until transferring to UC Irvine. In highschool he was on the Academic Math Team while taking advanced math classes in addition to playing football and running track. In his free time he likes to spend time with family, eat, and play video games. He believes math is a building block in learning and helps build skills that are necessary to succeed in life.
Brielle is currently an incoming junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Math has always been her favorite subject and she has held the goal of becoming an engineer since elementary school. She has always sought challenging classes and will be partaking in SM's International Baccalaureate Learning program where she will be taking Calculus BC in her Junior year. Outside of school, she enjoys theater, Model United Nations, flag football, painting, Mock Trial, and rollerblading. She is beyond excited to be working at Mathnasium as she has always loved working with kids and helping people with math.
Emma is currently an incoming junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She has always had a love for math and challenging herself. She will be taking all honors, AP, and IB classes her junior year, including Pre-Calculus Honors and AP Physics. Aside from school, she enjoys participating in basketball and flag football. She is also an accomplished artist and has won numerous awards, having artwork shown at Chapman University, City of Hope Hospital and the RSM Belltower. She is excited to share the gift of education with others and help them excel in their math journey at Mathnasium.
Jason is a rising junior at Tesoro High School and has always enjoyed helping other people. He has tutored for National Honor Society, local libraries, and privately. Jason is also plays varsity tennis at Tesoro, participate in national debate competitions, and coach novice debaters. He really enjoys reading, discussing, and just loves knowledge! Jason believes that being part of Mathnasium will be a great and educational experience for both him and others.
Kate is a current sophomore at Crean Lutheran High School. She enjoys both teaching and learning math, aspiring to be an elementary teacher one day. She is currently in AP Pre-calculus, and plans on taking AP Calculus in the upcoming year. She is a part of both National Honor Society and National Charity League where she can help support her community. Outside of school, she enjoys running, basketball, dance, reading, being a part of ASB, and being involved in her church. She is looking forward to working at Mathnasium and is excited to help kids learn to love math.
Linley is a current sophomore at Crean Lutheran High School. She enjoys learning and teaching math and she has experience tutoring both elementary and middle school students. She plans to become an elementary or middle school math teacher in the future. Linley has also competed in math and STEM competitions in the past. Outside of academics, she enjoys playing club, indoor, and beach volleyball. She loves staying active, spending time with friends, and trying new things. Linley is so excited to be able to teach at Mathnasium and she looks forward to creating positive experiences for every student she teaches.
Makayla is currently an incoming senior at Tesoro High School. She enjoys learning and teaching math to others, and most recently has completed Honors Precalculus and AP Statistics at Tesoro, and will be taking AP Calculus BC next school year. She has tutored for the Rancho Santa Margarita public library for almost five years, along with National Honor Society, and has loved every minute of it! During her free time, she loves to sing, read, play guitar, and play varsity lacrosse. Makayla is very excited to tutor at Mathnasium, and is looking forward to teaching kids math!
Marielle is currently an incoming junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She most recently completed Precalculus Honors and will be taking AP Calculus BC during the upcoming school year. Since math has always been her favorite subject and she always looks for an academic challenge, she will be taking the IB Math class during her senior year as a part of the full diploma International Baccalaureate program. Marielle is currently involved in theatre, Model United Nations, the California Scholarship Federation, and Girl Scouts. During her free time, she also enjoys playing the piano, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. She aspires to work in the medical field someday, but for now, she is incredibly excited to be working at Mathnasium! As someone who enjoys working with kids and teaching concepts to others, she hopes that she can make a positive impact on each student's learning.
