Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Robert

Center Director
Robert is a 2023 University of California, at Los Angeles graduate (Go Bruins!). He double majored in Applied Mathematics and Political Science. Math has always been one of Robert’s favorite subjects and he knows whatever career he ends up in, he’ll be doing a lot of math. Robert is excited to be back tutoring at Mathnasium as he loves helping kids better understand math and hopefully even enjoys doing math. In his free time, Robert enjoys hanging out with his friends and family, watching movies, and playing (and winning) board games.

Addison

Instructor
Addison is a senior at Capistrano Valley High School. She is a Scholar-Athlete that has participated in softball, soccer, and cross-country. She is a passionate, curious individual who has always sought to become more knowledgeable in all subjects, especially math. She has been a Girl Scout since she was 6 and has completed her bronze and silver awards, and is in pursuit of her gold award. Addison earned her silver award tutoring third graders that were struggling with math facts, both multiplication and division, during Covid. She loved tutoring kids and wishes to continue at Mathnasium.

Aileen

Instructor
Aileen is currently a senior at Tesoro High School who found her passion for math from her Father who skipped three school grades. Using her passion for teaching, she has tutored for nonprofit organizations, Sunday School, and for the National Honor Society. Aileen also has done Math Olympiad where she earned many different awards. She not only has taken 9 AP courses in high school so far including AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics C, but also she is second chair in her school’s Sinfonia Orchestra and captain of the Tennis Team. Aileen wants to continue using her skills of teaching to further share her love for math here at Mathnasium.

Andre

Instructor
Andre is a second year at Saddleback College studying physics until transferring to UC Irvine. In highschool he was on the Academic Math Team while taking advanced math classes in addition to playing football and running track. In his free time he likes to spend time with family, eat, and play video games. He believes math is a building block in learning and helps build skills that are necessary to succeed in life.

Brent

Instructor
Brent Bernstein is currently a sophomore at Saddleback college, and has had a deep passion for mathematics since he was 11. Brent really enjoys instructing students in various different concepts in mathematics. Brent has been on the honor roll throughout all of middle school, and has remained a part of the California Scholarship Federation throughout all of high school for achieving outstanding grades, and for completing extensive volunteer work. He has also received various different academic awards from his teachers throughout high school for achieving academic excellence in mathematics. Brent is also known to have an innate skill for developing a rapport of understanding with other students; which helps them develop a more fundamental understanding of difficult concepts by “turning the gears''. Some of Brent’s recent accomplishments are that he achieved his third-degree black belt in karate. He has been a very determined martial artist for 12 years, and enjoys working hard physically and mentally. Some of his goals are to become a successful Aerospace Engineer, and to continue volunteering for the betterment of the community. He believes that he would be a great instructor because he enjoys working with students of all ages, and helping them learn math in the way that they are the most receptive and adaptive. He is also very patient, and is willing to explain different concepts in the unique way that suits each student’s learning approach.

Brielle

Instructor
Brielle is currently an incoming junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Math has always been her favorite subject and she has held the goal of becoming an engineer since elementary school. She has always sought challenging classes and will be partaking in SM's International Baccalaureate Learning program where she will be taking Calculus BC in her Junior year. Outside of school, she enjoys theater, Model United Nations, flag football, painting, Mock Trial, and rollerblading. She is beyond excited to be working at Mathnasium as she has always loved working with kids and helping people with math.

Bryson

Instructor
Bryson is a senior currently attending Santa Margarita Catholic High School. He recently completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics-Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego after transferring from Saddleback College. Bryson has loved math his whole life, which inspired him to take advanced math classes at Saddleback College at a young age. In his free time, Bryson enjoys listening to music, hanging out with his friends, and playing volleyball.

Luke

Instructor
Luke is an incoming junior at Crean Lutheran High School. As a freshman, he completed Honors Pre-Calculus and is taking AP Calculus this upcoming year. He was the freshman class president of his school and is planning on majoring in Mathematics. His love for math was passed down from his Grandpa who got a full-ride scholarship to UCLA and Cal-Tech. Along with math Luke also is a three-sport athlete competing in Cross Country, Basketball, and Track and Field. He received Rookie of the Year in Cross Country and distance MVP on his track team. Luke is thrilled to be a tutor and help students feel assured in their math abilities.

Marielle

Instructor
Marielle is currently an incoming junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. She most recently completed Precalculus Honors and will be taking AP Calculus BC during the upcoming school year. Since math has always been her favorite subject and she always looks for an academic challenge, she will be taking the IB Math class during her senior year as a part of the full diploma International Baccalaureate program. Marielle is currently involved in theatre, Model United Nations, the California Scholarship Federation, and Girl Scouts. During her free time, she also enjoys playing the piano, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. She aspires to work in the medical field someday, but for now, she is incredibly excited to be working at Mathnasium! As someone who enjoys working with kids and teaching concepts to others, she hopes that she can make a positive impact on each student's learning.

TJ

Instructor
TJ is a UC Santa Cruz graduate who studied Computer Science. For as long as he can remember, math has been his favorite subject because of its problem-solving aspects. While in University, he took many challenging courses that required study sessions with his peers, upto Vector Calculus. Because of this, he realized how fun it was to help people understand difficult concepts. Now, he’s here to spread his passion for math with young students who haven’t found theirs yet! At home, TJ is either playing video games, working on whatever programming project he’s cooking up, watching anime, or enjoying some good music!
