Avanta graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Maine, and continued her studies in both informatics research and pedagogy at Stony Brook University. She has 6 years of experience in the field of education, and has conducted research in quantitative pedagogy to evaluate student scientific literacy. Her approach as a teacher is to guide students to identify recognizable subcomponents of an unfamiliar subject; to lead students from novices to full mastery. Her goal is to use methods from each of her research disciplines in order to improve quantitative learning accessibility for all students. Avanta joined the Santa Clara Mathnasium in 2023, excited to join a collaborative team for a mission that matters.
