Audrey

Assistant Center Director
Audrey (she/her) is the Assistant Center Director (previously an Instructor) at Santa Cruz Mathnasium. She graduated from UCSC in 2022 with a double major in Sociology and History and a minor in History of Consciousness and has been working at Mathnasium since 2020. Her favorite part of the job by far has been the incredible students she gets to work with everyday as they made her realize she wanted to be a teacher. She is fluent in American Sign Language and would love to pursue careers in education and interpreting eventually. Aside from teaching math, Audrey also loves painting and hiking and can often be found by the ocean doing one or both.

Aditi

Instructor
Aditi is an instructor at the Mathnasium of Santa Cruz. She is currently a freshman at UCSC majoring in Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Statistics. Her favorite part of the job is helping students understand math concepts that have challenged them in the past. When she is not teaching math, she enjoys swimming, surfing, playing video games, and going to the gym.

Alex

Instructor
Alex is an instructor at Mathnasium Santa Cruz. She is currently studying physics and trying to get a minor in Spanish literature at UCSC. Her favorite part of the job is helping students to gain the confidence that math is within their reach. When she is not teaching math she is most likely hiking, napping with her cat, or taking care of her extensive houseplant collection.

Angela

Instructor
Angela Blair (she/her) is a fourth year at UCSC majoring in Pure Maths and minoring in Astrophysics. Over the course of her schooling, she struggled a lot with math, and wants to help current students who are having the same difficulties. She is hoping to get her doctorate in Math and teach at a university level. She is a huge fan of hard rock and metal guitar, and likes to sit at home jamming on her electric guitar. If not doing math or playing guitar, she is either playing video games or watching reality TV with her 6 roommates.

Corbin

Instructor
Corbin has an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science and is currently in the process of transferring to a 4-year university. He has always enjoyed mathematics from a young age. He grew up liking math, but as he got older, he loved math. Even before Mathnasium, he would tutor frequently in his free time simply for the enjoyment of it. He especially enjoys helping students breakthrough and reach that “ah-ha!” moment. In his free time, he enjoys playing games with his friends, cooking, going to the gym, and doing math-related things.

Hunter

Instructor
Hunter Coomes (he/him) is thrilled to be working at Mathnasium. Math has always been a passion of his, his enthusiasm in math has extended as far back as he can remember. Some of his interests include rock climbing, dungeons & dragons, reading, and playing games with his friends. He loves to learn new things and wants to share that love of learning with others.

Iris

Instructor
Iris Vukovic (she/her) is a fourth year at UC Santa Cruz majoring in Pure Mathematics. She is interested in pursuing math education in the future and also works for Learning Support Services at UCSC as a math tutor. Building relationships with students and learning more about math is the perfect combination of her passions and coming to work never fails to brighten her day. Outside of school, Iris enjoys doing many non-math activities as well, such as reading, writing, and drawing.

Instructor
Naomi San Jose (she/her) is a fifth year at UC Santa Cruz majoring in Marine Biology, Environmental Studies, and STEM Education. She has been an Instructor with Mathnasium since 2021 and enjoys working with the students of Santa Cruz. These children have positively impacted her career pathway and pushed her to find ways to educate our youth in ways we have not yet imagined! In addition to Mathnasium and school, Naomi spends her time working as the Director of a non-profit that also serves children in the Santa Cruz area. Lastly, Naomi enjoys reading, discovering new music, and cooking meals for her friends!

Yash

Instructor
Yash is an Instructor at Mathnasium. He is currently a freshman at UCSC planning to major in Computer Science: Game Design. His favorite part of the job is interacting with the kids and helping them succeed. When he is not teaching math, he is probably studying while listening to music, playing video games or going to the gym.

Our Mathnasium Mission

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
