Mayra Orneals

Center Director

Hi, my name is Mayra. I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology. I enjoy listening to music, watching baseball (Go Dodgers), and spending time with my family and friends. I like working at Mathnasium because I enjoy helping students understand math, one of my favorite subjects. I especially like seeing how happy students are when they finally understand a difficult concept.

Jonathan

Jonathan (aka Jon Jon) graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Mathematics. He has worked as a teaching associate at CSUN where he taught calculus for business majors. He has also worked as a private tutor helping college students with calculus, pre-calculus, and statistics. His intellectual interests include logic, set theory, and philosophy of mathematics and science. In his free time, he enjoys playing with Rubik's cubes and playing puzzle video games. He enjoys working with kids and chose to work at mathnasium to expand his teaching experience to include kids of different ages.

In her free time, she likes to go on hikes and study with friends in coffee shops.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
