Karina earned her degree in Biochemistry with an emphasis in Chemistry from UC San Diego. After a successful career in the tech industry with several notable companies, she chose to return to her true passion—teaching and helping students rediscover the joy of learning math.
At Mathnasium, Karina focuses on showing students that math is not just a subject but a way to think critically and creatively about the world. Outside of work, she enjoys photographing food, exploring the outdoors, and traveling internationally to experience new cultures and cuisines.
Sebastian graduated from Oak Grove High School and plans to study Literature or English in college. While his academic interests are wide-ranging, teaching has always been one of his greatest passions. He loves helping students grow in confidence, guiding them through challenges, and showing them that math can be both approachable and rewarding.
When he’s not teaching at Mathnasium, Sebastian enjoys playing badminton, reading novels, and watching K-dramas. He values the chance to connect with students and believes learning is at its best when it’s personal, positive, and fun.
Livia is a Senior at Branham High School who loves working with kids and helping them see that math can be fun. Her creativity and enthusiasm for problem-solving make her a natural fit at Mathnasium, where she often turns lessons into interactive games that make learning memorable.
She’s passionate about building confidence in every student she teaches and helping them see math as a tool for discovery. Outside of Mathnasium, Livia enjoys playing volleyball, thrifting for unique finds, and spending time with friends and family.
Evelina is a senior at Pioneer High School with a passion for neuroscience and psychology. She loves getting to know each individual student at Mathnasium to make math engaging for everyone! Outside of work, she can be found performing in plays, volunteering at the animal shelter, and hiking with her friends.
Sana is a senior with interests in cognitive science and computer science. She enjoys teaching programming at local libraries and volunteering at senior homes. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new places, going on walks and hikes, and trying out coffee shops.
Kevin graduated from UC Davis with a double major in Computer Science and Economics. He has always loved math, teaching others, and helping students build confidence and understanding. In his free time, Kevin enjoys playing basketball, exploring the outdoors, and discovering new restaurants
Abel is a senior at Santa Teresa High School planning to study mechanical engineering. He loves helping children with math and volunteers at a hospital. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, painting and drawing, hanging out with friends, and spending time outdoors.
Tevin Tran is a senior at Santa Teresa Highschool who is looking forward to majoring in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering. He wants students to be comfortable with their math ability and understand that they can overcome any challenge they face. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights, playing pickleball and going on runs out in nature.
Ariana is a sophomore at Silver Creek High School. She loves teaching math because of the various ways to approach and solve problems, making it always interesting. Most of all Ariana is very passionate about making a positive difference for the students at Mathnasium. In her free time Ariana loves to play tennis, cook, and shop a lot!
Raghu is a junior at Santa Teresa Highschool and has a interest in aerospace engineering and cybersecurity. He is passionate about teaching kids, and volunteers at a local Kannada school. Outside of work, he spends his time with his friends and playing sports.
Sahil is a junior at Santa Teresa High School who has a passion for pursuing healthcare and attended a university to further chase his interests in cardiology and surgical practices. Other than committing time to school and work, Sahil enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and hanging out with friends. Sahil enjoys taking time to connect with students in order to understand their learning process, providing for an efficient yet welcoming environment.
