Carrie Emerick

I'm a mom of 2 kids who go to Hoffman Estates High School. I taught math for 6 years at the junior level and have both taught and tutored all grade levels. I also have my Master's in Teacher Leadership. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and cheering on the Cubs, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks. I'm passionate about helping students reach their goals. Nothing makes me happier than when my students have a lightbulb/aha! moment.

I am currently a college student at Miami University in Ohio. I love working at Mathnasium because math is one of my favorite subjects and I enjoy working with kids (especially on algebra). When I'm not working, you'll typically find me either training for volleyball and badminton or planning school events via the student council organization at Miami.

I just finished my first year studying Physics and Philosophy at King's College in London. I love origami, drawing mushrooms, and teaching students how to do both. I am passionate about making math accessible to students of all ages and abilities and am hoping to create a safe and exciting learning environment for everyone :)

I am a senior at Fremd High School. I was a student at Mathnasium and it impacted me greatly which is why I became an instructor in 2021. Some of my favorite activities are playing volleyball and binge-watching movies with my little sister.

I'm a junior at Schaumburg High School and a part of the student council, math team, and Saxon Speak. In my free time, I practice my guitar skills and teach the Assyrian language online! Teaching math is an opportunity that I could never pass up and I am forever grateful for the ability to share my knowledge with the students.

I love teaching math because I love learning new strategies and getting to know all the different kids. My math goal for the future is to simply learn as much as I can.

I have my MBA degree in HR and work as Instructional Assistant in School, which gives me a unique background to work at Mathnasium. I have the interpersonal skills needed to greet visitors in a friendly but professional manner and to help create a pleasant and welcoming environment. Besides work I love cooking, traveling, and of course shopping. I also love spending time with my family and friends.

I am a college student studying computer science. I am currently studying discrete math but whatever math I am taking I try to use it to solve everyday issues. I like teaching math to others in order to share my love of math with my students.

I am attending Saint Louis University as part of their direct medical program. I have been working at Mathnasium for 3 years, and my favorite math topic is algebra! Teaching math to kids allows me to not only practice my favorite subject, but to also interact with all the students!

I just finished my first year at UIUC studying math and actuarial science. I've been teaching at Mathnasium for a few years and am currently the main online instructor. Some of my hobbies are piano and rock climbing, as well as I've been doing martial arts for 14 years.

I am a Colombian math enthusiast. My love for the field was instilled by my father, a Civil Engineer with a PhD in Seismic Activity. I've attended multiple college level classes, and have done particularly well in them. I played basketball in high school, and religiously follow the NBA. I'm very interested in financing classes, and am currently considering going to school again to get a degree.

So far, I have visited 17 countries, and my favorite is the Czech Republic, because of it's gorgeous architecture.

A fun fact about me is that I have been at Mathnasium since 2019, when it opened.

Although, I like solving math problems, I recently got admitted to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. A fun fact about me is that I was one of the first students who joined this Mathnasium in 2019 :)
