Brooke Posner

Office Assistant
My name is Brooke Posner, currently a junior at Smithtown High School West. I am a highest honor roll student and a member of Math Honor Society as well as many other school clubs. I was originally hired to be an office manager and overtime I began to help out on the floor instructing students in addition to managing the office. I developed a love and passion for helping students learn and understand different levels of math. Although I am only in Algebra 2 I have a good grasp on the topics and feel comfortable enough to help out where I can. My favorite math is geometry because I love all the proofs. I think they are fun, being able to figure it out is like a puzzle, using strategic thinking. I enjoy tutoring and helping students gain the confidence to succeed in math. In the future, I would like to go to college to major in secondary education for mathematics. One thing I learned since working at Mathnasium is how to play chess, which I began to enjoy and hope to get better at in my future! 1. Favorite Math Topic- Geometry Proofs 2. Favorite Food- Chicken Parm 3. Favorite Vacation- The Jersey Shore 4. Favorite Sports Team- Yankees

Shahzaib Saeed

Lead Instructor
Hello, I am 19 and currently attending Stony Brook University studying Applied Math and Statistics after graduating from Centereach High School in 2021. After struggling in Algebra 2 back in my sophomore year, I attended Mathnasium and they helped me to understand the material. I now feel as though I have a better understanding of the children that need help with math because I was also feeling the same way when I was in Algebra 2 which makes me connect to the kids better. Seeing students relieved and happy after understanding a topic and them showing it through their grades over time is the reason I love and continue to teach. Aside from math, sports might be a passion I have the most love for. I’ve been playing basketball since I was 4 and would’ve taken basketball more seriously in college if I hadn’t discovered my love for math. I also love music and TV shows like The Office, Naruto, and The Walking Dead. My Favorites: Math Topic: Sequences Food: Salmon Sports: Basketball, Football, and MMA Hobby: Piano

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
