We are Skip and Cindy Sharrer, co-owners of Mathnasium of South Baton Rouge. Skip is a transplant from California 30 years removed (therefore an honorary Louisianan) and Cindy was born here. We have three beautiful daughters who have posted two grandkids to date and counting. Skip received his B.A. and M.A. in mathematics from UCLA, then taught math at the college level prior to entering the computing field. He worked in IT for 30 years running his own companies but is ready to return to his teaching roots. He receives great satisfaction when young minds learn not only numeric skills but understand the concepts behind them. Cindy worked in IT, then as a marketing consultant, and finally as a CFO for years and is excited to oversee the administration of the center. We believe the Mathnasium method is unsurpassed in its approach to helping students comprehend the concepts behind mathematics and we would be privileged to assist your child with his/her math comprehension. In his spare time Skip enjoys nearly all sports, classic rock, theology/philosophy, and praying for my UCLA Bruins to get their degrees since they’ll likely need them given their athletic prowess. Cindy loves counting her grandkids (using the Mathnasium method of course), then chasing and caring for them. We’d be thrilled to care for yours also, mathematically speaking, should you have that need.
Michael holds a degree in Chemistry and brings a strong appreciation for Abstract Algebra to his role at Mathnasium. He enjoys helping students discover the joy of studying math for its own sake and finds fulfillment in sharpening his own skills through teaching.
Outside of the center, Michael enjoys playing music, studying history, weightlifting, and exploring recreational mathematics. A fun fact: he does all his own maintenance on his musical instruments.
Trevor is a senior at LSU, studying Math and Physics with a focus on Advanced Calculus and Differential Equations. He brings a deep understanding of mathematical concepts to his role at Mathnasium.

Angie is the former owner of Mathnasium of South Baton Rouge. She holds a degree in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her background includes teaching gifted, magnet, and special education students in East Baton Rouge schools.
Her journey with Mathnasium began as a parent when she enrolled her daughter to boost her confidence and skills in math. Inspired by the transformation, Angie opened her first center in 2017 and now brings her passion for math education back to where it all started.
