Q: What helps students in your center stay motivated?
A: Our engaging instructors, rewards program, tailored curriculum, and math games
Q: Tell us about the reward cabinet!
A: Students can earn rewards based on how much math they do. These rewards range from small items such as nail polish or fidgets to big items such as air pods or a Nintendo Switch!
Q: How do students earn prizes from the reward cabinet?
A: Each student has a punch card. Each page of math is a punch on that punch card. Once the card is completely punched out, it can be used to buy things! Students can spend it immediately, or save it up to get even bigger rewards!
Q: How does your center celebrate student success?
A: We have a Nerd Award for students who get A's on math tests. We do a biannual drawing for $100 for all the students who got a 100% (or higher) on a math test). We have a ""Way to Go!"" board. We also cheer along with them as they celebrate achievements in their lives.
Q: What is your favorite student success story?
A: One of my favorite success stories was a student who came in, very shy and with low confidence. She wouldn't speak above a whisper or look anybody in the eye. She was terrified to have the wrong answer, and was years behind in math. Over time, her confidence and capability have both grown. Now she sits up straight and teases our instructors. She is willing to take on any math challenge, even if she isn't sure she can succeed. She has caught up to her grade level in math and doesn't need a support class at school any more! We are hopeful that if she keeps up this trend, she might even become a Mathnasium instructor one day.
