Efren

My name is Efren Alvarez and I graduated from UCI in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a specialization in Education. I'm currently in the process of applying for a teacher's credential at Cal State Fullerton, and I hope to become a high school math teacher in the future.

Huy

Hello! I received my bachelor's degree in mathematics from UC Berkeley and a master's degree in applied statistics from Cal State Long Beach. I'm currently a senior data analyst with strong skills in applying mathematics and computing to solve real-world problems. Outside of work, I'm passionate about teaching mathematics, computer science, and data analysis skills to K-12 kids. I've taught courses in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus, among others. I enjoy helping students regain math fundamentals and deepen their understanding of math. I'm eager to help your child improve in math!

Duyen

I graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a bachelor's degree and teaching credential in Mathematics. Throughout my educational journey, I have developed a deep passion for teaching and inspiring students to enhance their mathematical skills. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where all students feel empowered to succeed. Working at Mathnasium has provided me with invaluable experience in helping students build a strong foundation in math. I am excited to continue my journey at Mathnasium, where I can share my enthusiasm for mathematics!

Frida

My name is Frida, and I am currently studying at Cal State Fullerton, earning two bachelor's degrees in Business Administration. I have always enjoyed math, and while I might not always understand a concept right away, the best part is being able to use my creativity to meet the challenge and learn. I have always appreciated that in math class, we were not only learning to use and manipulate numbers, but learning how to answer not just the "how' questions, but also the "why" questions. As I grew older, and had to tackle harder concepts, I struggled, losing confidence in myself and my ability, but through the learning process, I was constantly encouraged to persevere in the face of great challenges. I have always loved to work with others and help them, so working here at Mathnasium of North Costa Mesa, I can not only connect with students and pass on advice, but also encourage them not to give up when faced with a challenge and instead work to overcome the challenge. In my free time I love to curl up with a good book, which can often bring me to an enchanting world of imagination. I also love to dance, especially the Ballet Folklorico style, that is Mexican folk dance which helps me feel more connected to my culture.

Rohaan

My name is Rohaan and I'm from Orange, CA. I recently graduated from Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills and am going on to study political science and economics at UCLA on the pre-law track. Before joining Mathnasium, I served as a debate instructor and moderator for the Orange County Debate League, and I've also had the opportunity to volunteer as a tutor throughout high school. I've had an amazing experience working at Mathnasium, and I'm thrilled I can continue that throughout this summer.

Cleo

I'm a senior at the Orange County School of the Arts, with a focus on production and design as well as a passion for physics. I joined Mathnasium during the summer of 2024; previously, I worked at STEMTree summer programs and tutored math through an OCSA peer program. I have experience with standadized testing and subjects through Calculus. I'm ready and able to help students at all levels to surpass their mathematical goals!
