Isaiah Green

Isaiah is currently a student at Portland State University, working towards a degree in Mathematics with the hope of becoming a high school math teacher. He loves working with students to find new ways to look at problems and is very passionate about helping people to understand math better. When he’s not at Mathnasium, he can probably be found doing math on his own for fun, or playing guitar and hanging out with friends.

Anna Luce

Instructor
Anna recently graduated from Reed College with a degree in mathematics and a minor in Spanish. She appreciates the simultaneously abstract yet precise nature of mathematics. She not only enjoys sharing her love of math with students, but also enjoys laughing with them along the way. In her free time she likes walking, cooking, and watching YouTube videos about whatever random thing interests her at that given time.

Madi Garofolo

Madi is currently a student at Reed College studying computer science. She enjoys solving problems and doing puzzles, which fuels her interest in both computer science and math. She enjoys helping students learn new skills and gain confidence in their abilities. In her free time she likes playing video games, coding, and hanging out with her friends.

Leo Almero

Leonard is currently studying health and medicine at OHSU. Although he is studying medicine and health, he has always had a passion for math and helping others. Prior to becoming an instructor at Mathnasium, he tutored for three years, teaching K-12 and college students in math and chemistry. Through Mathnasium’s unique approach towards math, he is excited to be able to guide many students and make an impact in their lives to help them achieve their goals. When he is not working towards his degree or teaching, he is always active within the community. On Thursdays he is volunteering at Night Strike, a local organization that provides resources for people experiencing homelessness.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
