Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Daniel

Assistant Center Director

Daniel is the Assistant Center Director and a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, where he majored in Computer Science and minored in Math. He has a strong interest in algebra and discrete math and enjoys making connections between math concepts and programming.  

At Mathnasium, Daniel brings a thoughtful and energetic approach to teaching, helping students see how math applies to the world around them. In his free time, he enjoys coding, building websites, and playing video games that challenge his problem-solving skills. 

Peter

Lead Instructor

Peter is the Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of South Elgin. He graduated from St. Charles North and is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics at Elgin Community College. He has completed advanced courses, including Calculus III and AP Statistics, and his favorite subjects are the full Calculus sequence.  

Peter especially enjoys identifying patterns in unexpected places and helping students uncover similar insights. In high school, he spent time tutoring classmates in the math lab, which helped spark his interest in math education and mentorship. 

Ashlyn

Instructor

Ashlyn is an instructor at Mathnasium, and a graduate from Illinois State University, where she majored in Middle Level Education with endorsements in Mathematics and Science. She has spent 5 years as an 8th grade math teacher, teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and Geometry. In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys reading, cooking, and listening to music. She believes that with the right guidance and support, every student can excel in math.


Jackson

Instructor

Jackson is an instructor and graduate of South Elgin High School. He currently attends Northern Illinois University as a Math major and aspires to earn a Ph.D. and become a professor. Jackson is especially passionate about helping others understand math and experience the satisfaction of having a difficult concept finally click.  

His favorite part of working at Mathnasium is guiding students through challenges and celebrating their progress. Outside of academics, he enjoys thinking deeply about math and its many applications. 

Lyla

Instructor
Lyla is a sophomore at St. Charles East High School and is currently taking AP Precalculus. In her free time, she likes to play the cello, read, listen to music, and play tennis. Her favorite thing about math is the way that it can be applied to everyday life. She enjoys tutoring because she loves to see how the kids develop their math skills and succeed through the course of their learning.

Faith

Instructor

Faith is a graduate of St. Charles North High School, and currently attends Elgin Community College. She plans on transferring to University of Illinois Urbana Champaign to study biology. Her favorite math topics are calculus and algebra. In her free time, she enjoys painting, listening to music, and reading.

Andrew

Instructor

Andrew is a graduate of Batavia High School and is now attending Waubonsee Community College with a major in middle school and high school math education. This big friendly giant is passionate about making a learning process fun while bringing the best in students. He also enjoys martial arts, reading, writing and video games.




Emily

Instructor

Emily is a senior at St. Charles North High School and is taking Calculus III. Her favorite thing about tutoring is seeing how students gain confidence and grow in their math skills every session. In her free time she enjoys traveling and reading.

Vedang

Instructor

Love astronomy, ECC student transferring to UIUC for astrophysics, love to play tennis and video games in my free time, I love Calculus and Geometry  

Charlie

Instructor
Charlie is a senior at Jacobs High School and is currently taking AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics.  He enjoys getting to know new people, and aspires to become a clinical psychiatrist in the future. He is very academically minded, and strives to give students the knowledge and assistance they need to grow their independent math abilities.

Devan

Instructor

Devan is a junior at St. Charles North High School and is currently taking Calculus III. He enjoys helping students overcome their difficulties and succeed through problem solving. In his future, he plans on pursuing a career path in engineering. In his free time, he loves to listen to music, play video games, and play pickup sports games.

Ellie

Instructor

Ellie is a sophomore at St. Charles North High School and is currently taking Precalculus. In her free time, she likes to play volleyball, spend time with friends, and listen to music. She likes when math is able to really click and when learning becomes fun.  

Fiona

Instructor

Fiona is a sophomore at St. Charles North High School and is currently taking AP Precalculus. In her free time, she enjoys reading, art, and playing tennis. She likes math because of how it can be used in so many different ways every day.

Carter

Instructor

Carter is a graduate of Jacobs High School and currently attends Judson University, where she is majoring in biochemistry with the goal of becoming a dermatologist. She is a member of the Judson University Women’s Volleyball Team and enjoys helping students build confidence in their math skills. Her favorite subjects to tutor are algebra and calculus, and she is passionate about making challenging concepts clear and approachable.

Harshil

Instructor

Harshil is a junior at Bartlett High School and a dual-credit student at Elgin Community College, where he is currently taking Calculus II. He is interested in computer science and is currently enrolled in an introductory C++ course. Harshil enjoys problem solving and helping others understand challenging concepts. In the future, he plans to pursue a career in quantitative finance. In his free time, he loves watching football, playing tennis, and playing pickleball.
