Raiden

Lead Instructor
Raiden is a 2nd year biochemistry major at UNLV who loves math and working with children. Working at Mathnasium has helped him realize his interests in math and teaching. In addition to teaching at Mathnasium, he is currently participating in a student internship at Harvey Dondero Elementary and helps teach and develop STEM related lessons. In the future, he plans to attend medical school to become a trauma surgeon. Outside of school and work, he enjoys playing guitar, running, and playing video games.

Mark

Instructor
Mark is a one of our many incredible and accomplished instructors! He was born and raised in Las Vegas and is currently enrolled in high school. Throughout his academic career, he has been able to take all math classes up to Calculus 1 and is currently continuing his studies. He plans on attending UNLV and becoming a Mechanical Engineer in the future. When he has spare time, he loves to spend time with family and friends and work on expanding his knowledge on 3D printing. Working at Mathnasium has given Mark the opportunity to help students grow by widening their thinking abilities and has allowed him to spread his love of mathematics to children of all ages.

Dan Saposhnik

Director of Operations
Dan graduated from the University of Arizona in 1985 with a B.S. in Microbiology and from Hofstra University's Graduate School of Business in 1990 with an MBA in Accounting. He worked as a CPA with public accounting firm Price Waterhouse and has built successful companies in various fields including real estate and executive recruiting. Dan's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. His mother was a highly regarded principal in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. Dan has taught and tutored children of all ages and was a mentor for underprivileged children. Dan is committed to significantly increasing Las Vegas children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their overall school performance. "We provide lots of warm encouragement in a very positive learning environment so that children build their confidence and develop a winning attitude towards math. Our kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them. They get excited about math and this spirit carries over into everything they do."

Laurie Wasser Saposhnik

Director of Marketing and Community Outreach
Laurie graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Prior to joining Mathnasium, Laurie worked for various Fortune 500 high tech companies such as IBM, SAP, EMC, TIBCO and MicroStrategy. Laurie's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. Her father taught special education at the high school level for over 30 years in California. Laurie is committed to partnering with the Las Vegas community to increase Las Vegas children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their confidence in their ability to be successful.

Katelyn

Assistant Director
"I love working at Mathnasium because I feel like I learn something new every day." After moving from O'ahu to Las Vegas, Katelyn Matsumoto took her GED and graduated early. Katelyn has always loved working with children and broadening their horizons in ways unimaginable, because they broaden hers too! With passion and eagerness to learn, Katelyn strives to always aim for betterment of students, staff, and center alike. Katelyn loves building relationships with our families, and being able to see our students flourish. In her free time, Katelyn enjoys bouldering, online gaming, and everything music!

Sonica

Lead Instructor
Sonica is a Las Vegas native who is currently in her 4th year of college at the University of Las Vegas Nevada. During her senior year of high school she worked at a few other Mathnasium locations as an instructor before taking on her current role as Lead Instructor over at the Southern Highlands location. Although Sonica has worker previously as a tutor elsewhere and even a substitue teacher for a year, she really resonates with the Mathnasium mission as well as the flexibility Mathnasium offers to college and high school students seeking an opportunity to gain experience in the teaching field. Outside of Mathnasium, Sonica volunteers and performs at various conventions (anime, gaming, and other genres) and is involved with her school's collegiate esports program. She plans to dive into structural design as she works towards completing her Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering at UNLV.

Robert

Lead Instructor
Robert is a 3rd year accounting major with a minor in computer science at UNLV. He has been teaching kids in different occupations for going on 6 years. Robert is also a classically trained violinist with over 10 years of experience. Robert also spent 2 years abraod working with international aid groups in the pacific islands to build homes, sanitation stations, and irrigation plots. When not working, Robert spends his free time constructing computers, playing games with friends, and going on walks with his 2 golden retrievers named Cooper and Bear. Robert's goal at mathnasium is to make sure all of his students learn the tools to be able to tackle any math problem given to them.

Tristan

Instructor
Tristan is a 2nd year mechanical engineering student with a minor in math at UNLV. He enjoys video games and tinkering with robotics and 3d printing. He is a big supporter of STEM education. Tristan is an alumnus of FIRST robotics and continues to be a mentor and volunteer in the Las Vegas area. He believes that the new generation of children will benefit from a strong foundation in math.

Miguel

Instructor
Miguel Gamboa graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He enjoys hiking and playing videogames, and has recently moved to Nevada. Having been a tutor before, Miguel works at the Mathnasium to inspire people to continue learning. Miguel encourages everyone trying to learn math to keep on trying, because learning math was also a challenge for him too!

Jeffrey

Instructor
Graduated from Santa Clara University as a Business major and subsequently attained my CPA license a year later. Jeff's freshmen class had a high average school GPA of 3.5 out of 4. Jeff was accepted into the University of Texas MBA graduate school, which at the time, was top ten in the country. Jeff scored in the top 6 percentile for the national graduate school entrance exam. Jeff attained the position of executive corporate controller in his working career. In his youth, he had won several dance contests. In his spare time, he enjoys making song parodies.
