Following personalized learning plans, our tutors help students in grades 1-12 master the concepts behind every upcoming quiz, unit test, and final exam. By identifying each student's knowledge gaps and building understanding level by level, we help students approach their state assessment with the skills and confidence needed to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
Our specially trained tutors prepare high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT® using proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans. We focus on building lasting content knowledge and exam-ready problem-solving strategies, so students see real score improvement on test day and beyond.
At Mathnasium of South Jordan, our specially trained math tutors help students in grades 1-12 prepare for any math exam, from classroom quizzes and state assessments to college admissions tests like the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
We work with students in a caring and fun group environment, providing personalized, face-to-face instruction that focuses on genuine understanding. Our tutors pinpoint each student's knowledge gaps, introduce concepts in a logical sequence, and guide them steadily forward so they feel prepared and capable when exam day arrives.
We use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines assessment-based personalized learning plans with proven interactive techniques to build the mathematical understanding students need to perform well on any exam.
Rather than drilling test-taking tactics, our tutors help students truly grasp the concepts they'll be tested on. Paired with proprietary test prep materials, this approach develops the problem-solving skills and confidence that lead to meaningful, lasting improvement.
Students begin their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment that helps us pinpoint their current skill level, knowledge gaps, and exam goals. Using these insights, we design a personalized learning plan that targets exactly what each student needs to work on.
Tutors follow each plan closely, reinforcing understanding and introducing new material gradually. As students build skills and fill knowledge gaps, their confidence grows alongside their readiness, so they arrive at their exam prepared to do their best.

Drew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and is known for connecting math to real life—from music and sports to art and science. He specializes in helping students see the math that exists all around them, whether it’s Fibonacci spirals in fossils or fractal patterns in lightning.
Drew brings humor, energy, and personalized teaching to every session. His favorite line? “See? You’ve been using math this whole time!” Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys playing guitar, chess, and video games—all of which use math! He’s passionate about helping students discover just how fun and powerful math can be.
Malone Bowers
Director
Malone has loved math for as long as she can remember. After earning her Bachelor’s in Math from the University of Utah, she began tutoring students of all levels, from kindergarten through calculus. She’s spent over seven years turning complex topics into fun, understandable lessons—and loves every second of it!
She believes the true magic of Mathnasium lies in making math accessible and exciting. Malone is especially proud of the moments when a student’s eyes light up because something finally clicks. Whether she’s showing off cool math tricks or building a student’s confidence, she’s living her dream job.
Mason Fronce
Assistant Director
Hello, I’m Mason! I’m the Assistant Director and I have worked at Mathnasium since 2017. One of my favorite things about working here, and the reason why I’ve worked here so long, is seeing the light bulb start to light up when a student begins to understand a difficult topic. Math can be a tricky subject for many people, but being able to share the passion I have for math and seeing students gain confidence in their math skills is very rewarding.
I’m currently studying computer science at Brigham Young University. I love all things math and computer related, and enjoy playing video games, listening to music, and reading books in my free time.
Ella Rogers
Lead Instructor
Ella Rogers is currently attending Salt Lake Community College. She plays piano, reads, draws, and plays video games in her free time. She loves math and believes that math is for everyone. Ella loves seeing the students learning more, building on their understanding, and becoming more confident in their skills.
Sophie Pearson-Terry
Instructor
Sophie Pearson-Terry is a junior at Bingham High School who enjoys staying active and creative. She sings in choir and school musicals, plays competition soccer, and spends her free time writing stories and poems or playing video games. Sophie is passionate about the arts and loves finding ways to express herself both on stage and on the page.
As a Mathnasium instructor, Sophie enjoys helping students build confidence and discover the fun side of math. She believes that with patience, encouragement, and hard work, anyone can succeed. She loves being part of a team that helps students grow, and she’s always excited to share in those “aha!” moments when things finally click.
Ruchiraa Chinta
Instructor
For Ruchiraa, math has always been about discovery—the small “aha” moments that come after trying, failing, and finally figuring it out. She loves how math rewards patience and creativity, turning even the most frustrating problems into puzzles worth solving.
As a Biomedical Engineering major at the University of Utah, Ruchiraa enjoys exploring how math quietly shapes the world around us, from the steady patterns of a heartbeat to the way motion can be translated into numbers. When teaching, she tries to help students treat math as a space for curiosity and exploration, where understanding matters more than perfection.
Zachary Stocking
Instructor
Zachary is a Senior at Herriman High. He plans on pursuing a career in quantum computing after college. Zachary has enjoyed math for a long time and loves to talk about advanced math courses like Calculus and Statistics. He enjoys helping people, which is why he became a math tutor! Zachary believes that building confidence in math and improving your math skills opens many doors, which in turn allows you to choose what path you take in your future.

At Mathnasium of South Jordan, we believe the best exam preparation is building deep math understanding and mastery over time.
Students begin their enrollment process with a diagnostic assessment that helps us identify their current skills and knowledge gaps. From there, we create a personalized learning plan that builds math skills consistently, session by session, so students aren't starting from scratch before every test.
Our specially trained tutors work with students in grades 1-12, across any math class or topic, from elementary math through Precalculus and beyond, reinforcing the concepts they're learning in school, filling in foundational gaps, and developing the problem-solving skills that serve them on quizzes, midterms, and final exams alike.
When a major exam is approaching, we can align instruction with the specific topics and concepts it will cover, so students walk in feeling prepared.
Yes! Mathnasium of South Jordan prepares students for the math portions of the RISE assessment.
Our tutors align instruction with the Utah Core Standards for Mathematics to ensure students have a solid grasp of the grade-level concepts they'll encounter on the exam. We identify each student's knowledge gaps through a diagnostic assessment and build a personalized learning plan that targets the skills they need to meet and exceed grade-level expectations.
The earlier, the better. Because the RISE assessment measures cumulative math understanding built over the school year, students benefit most from consistent, ongoing support rather than last-minute preparation.
Ideally, students should begin working with us at the start of the school year or semester. This gives us time to identify and address any knowledge gaps, build foundational skills, and ensure students are progressing steadily toward grade-level mastery well before test day.
That said, if your student is closer to the exam, we can still make a meaningful difference. Contact us and we'll create a focused plan based on the time available.
Yes! Mathnasium of South Jordan prepares high school students for the math sections of the SAT®, PSAT®, and ACT®.
Our specially trained tutors use proprietary test prep materials and personalized learning plans to build the content knowledge and problem-solving strategies students need to perform their best on test day. Whether your student is taking the exam for the first time or looking to improve their score, we tailor preparation to their current skill level and target goals.
We recommend starting at least three to six months before the exam date, and earlier is always better.
College admissions math tests cover a wide range of topics, from algebra and data analysis to geometry and, on the ACT®, trigonometry. Students who begin preparation early have time to identify and close knowledge gaps, build fluency with exam-style problems, and develop the confidence that comes from sustained practice.
For students with significant gaps in foundational math skills, starting even earlier, in middle school or early high school, gives them the strongest possible foundation heading into test prep.
If your student's test date is approaching sooner, contact us and we'll build a focused plan around the time they have.
Mathnasium of South Jordan offers math test prep as part of a flat monthly membership fee. Pricing depends on your student's individual plan and session schedule.
For specific pricing information, please contact our center directly, we're happy to walk you through the options and find a plan that fits your student's goals and your family's needs.
The number of sessions depends on your student's current skill level, the exam they're preparing for, and how much time is available before test day.
As a general guide, most students preparing for a major exam such as the SAT®, PSAT®, or ACT® attend two sessions per week over three to six months. For state assessments or classroom exams, the timeline may be shorter, depending on the student's starting point and goals.
After the diagnostic assessment, we'll have a clear picture of what your student needs and can recommend a session schedule that gives them the best chance of success.
Yes! Students can join live, face-to-face online sessions with our specially trained tutors in South Jordan and follow the same personalized learning plan as they would in the center.
No, both formats provide the same personalized learning plan, face-to-face instruction, and caring guidance from our tutors. Many families choose a combination of in-center and online sessions for added flexibility around busy schedules and exam timelines.
Yes. Our tutors understand the Utah Core Standards for Mathematics and the expectations of local schools in South Jordan and surrounding communities.
