Mathnasium continues to support your student with a live @home learning experience!

Apr 22, 2020 | South Tampa

Times have certainly changed in the last 30 days, and Mathnasium is here to support your online learner. Both private and public schools have rolled out their virtual classrooms, and the methods vary. Whether your child’s teacher uses a zoom classroom and provides an interactive experience, or uses various links and videos to teach, we are here to continue to support your child’s math to make sure they are ready to start back strong in August.

The new school classroom is a change for everyone, and managing expectations can be different for each type of learner. If your child needs extra support with daily school lessons, or he or she is working toward mastering additional math concepts beyond the school classroom, we are here.

Mathnasium @home gives us the power to provide the same high level of quality instruction our students are used to in the center, but from the safety of their own homes. When you choose the Mathnasium@home program, students and instructors will log into the virtual classroom to work together—just like they would be doing in the center. This real-time face-to-face instruction will be completed in 60 or 90-minute sessions with the same instructors and Mathnasium Method you’ve experienced at our center, but now online.

We want to continue to make learning math fun. If you are a current student, you are familiar with punch cards. Our instructors will continue to track the number of punches earned each session. When our prize center is reopened, students will be able to redeem punch cards for prizes.

How does @home work?

Once registered with a student email, a link to the virtual session will be provided. To get the most out of your @home experience, we recommend using a desktop or laptop with a camera, mouse, headphones, and a microphone. Students in elementary through pre-algebra will continue to have up to 60 minutes per session, and algebra 1 and up will participate in 90 minutes sessions.

The Mathnasium curriculum will continue to be taught during the first half of your online session. Homework, schoolwork, and test prep assistance can be done during the second half of your session. If you do find that you need homework support, it can be submitted in advance of your @home session.

In an effort to give all of our student’s time with our instructors, we are asking families to only register for up to four appointments per week.

As always, we are still here to discuss progress, along with your student’s learning plan.
