The Power of Exponential Power

Next week will be the last week of the 2024 year! How in the world did that happen so fast?! Seems like just yesterday that we were ringing in 2024 with the New Years' Eve Ball drop. This whole year has gone so fast. Which reminds me of a math "expression". This year has gone by EXPONENTIALLY faster than other years have.

In math we talk a lot about Exponents. It's the second step in PEMDAS... but my "Dear Aunt Sally" didn't warn me of the exponential ramp up of time! She didn't warn me that one day it would be the 4th of July and then all of a sudden it was four days until Christmas and the end of the year would be soon to follow. Exponential power isn't just something that I look at in terms of Math though. It is something that I consider a matter of confidence and growth too. We talk extensively about confidence in the center, that once a student is confident in math, they are unstoppable. It is contagious. Once you are confident in addition, subtraction is soon to follow, and then multiplication, division, fractions, percentages... and before you know it, Linear Algebra. That is the exponential power of confidence and growth. As with exponential growth in confidence, I am always more and more increasingly impressed with Mathnasium. I have been a Center Director for a little over two years now, and each day I am more wowed than the last. Watching the students learn, grow, and succeed is something that warms my heart and gives me hope for the future. These are our future, right here, learning their math foundations to build their life upon. Logic, number sense, reasoning, critical thinking, and confidence... a perfect foundation for a well rounded individual ready to succeed in all that they do. 

Although the time seems to be rapidly passing... let it be a reminder to us all of the power behind Exponential Power. It can be a wonderful trend in our lives. Mathnasium's goal for 2025 will be to continue that upward trend of exponential growth in confidence and growth. We are happy to be a part of the math education for each of our Mathletes but we are even more honored to be a part of their journey to CONFIDENT!
