Hi! My name is Christian!
I’m currently studying Elementary Education at Waubonsee Community College. Before I found my true passion for teaching, I spent two years studying chemical engineering. While I found the subject interesting, I realized that my heart was truly in teaching, especially after working at Mathnasium. It was there that I discovered how much I loved helping students succeed and watch them grow in their understanding of math.
I’ve been with Mathnasium for over two years, gaining experience in various roles, from Instructor to Assistant Center Director, and even Center Director. This has given me a well-rounded perspective on how Mathnasium works and how I can best support students in their learning journey. Algebra has always been my favorite subject, and I can’t wait to help your student(s) master it and develop a deeper appreciation for math!
I’m proud to say that I’ve earned Instructor of the Quarter, and I’m always excited to be part of such a great team. Whether I’m working with students or collaborating with my colleagues, I love being in an environment where I can make a positive impact. Teaching is more than just a job to me – it’s a passion, and I’m committed to helping your student(s) reach their full potential and feel confident in their math abilities.
When I’m not helping students at Mathnasium, I enjoy exploring new hobbies, learning new things, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. I’m so excited to work with you and your student(s) and help them do their absolute best in math!
Hi! I'm Tim!
I've been an instructor with Mathnasium for quite a while now, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. Helping students gain confidence in math and seeing them succeed is something I’m truly passionate about. Right now, I’m a freshman in college, focusing on college-level Algebra, which works out perfectly since Algebra is my favorite type of math to teach! I love the challenge of solving equations and helping students understand those concepts.
As an instructor, I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where students can build a strong foundation in math. I believe that having a solid grasp of the basics is key to tackling more advanced topics. I want every student to feel confident and capable in their math skills.
Outside of teaching, I’m an avid chess player. It’s a great way to keep my mind sharp and think strategically, much like solving math problems! Recently, I was honored to be voted Instructor of the Quarter, which was an amazing recognition and reminded me of how much I love helping students succeed in math.
Hi! I'm Yzabelle!
I’m currently a junior at St. Charles East High School, where I’m taking Calculus BC. At STCE, I’m fortunate to be involved in several extracurricular activities, including the Math National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, our X-Ray school newspaper, and Educators Rising. Outside of these, I also volunteer through our Saints Helping Hawks program every week, tutoring middle school students. I’ve had plenty of experience helping my siblings and peers with their coursework, and I truly enjoy working with others. I find that teaching concepts not only helps others, but it also deepens my own understanding.
I’ve always had a passion for learning and discovery, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others. At Mathnasium, I’m excited to help students find that same passion for math. In my free time, I’m drawn to the arts, whether it’s drawing, writing, or playing music. I find a lot of joy in expressing my creativity, whether it’s through the piano or with a pen and paper.
Hi! My name is Jacob.
I earned my undergraduate degree in General Mathematics from Illinois State University and am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching at McKendree University, working toward becoming a high school math teacher. I discovered my passion for teaching through tutoring during undergrad, and it’s only grown since—I truly enjoy sharing my love for math with students here at Mathnasium!
I’ve been with Mathnasium since 2020, working at two different locations with unique teaching styles. While I’ve served as a Center Director, my primary role has been as an instructor, giving me a strong understanding of the Mathnasium curriculum and its students.
Outside of teaching, I’m a big Cubs fan and love playing chess and piano. I’m excited to use my experience and passion to help your student succeed in math!
