Celeste earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Secondary Education and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning. She taught for 31 years, including 26 with the Hudson School District, where she worked as a math teacher and math interventionist. She first joined Mathnasium in 2018, planning for a part-time retirement job that quickly grew into her current role as Center Director.
Celeste loves the Mathnasium Method™ for its ability to identify each child’s needs and create customized learning plans. She is excited to continue supporting students and families in building confidence and lasting success in math.
Josiah lives in Maplewood and brings a love for both math and music to Mathnasium. He studied calculus in college and has always had a passion for problem-solving. In addition to his work as Lead Instructor, Josiah teaches music lessons and serves as a part-time church music director.
He enjoys watching students light up when a difficult concept becomes clear. Whether teaching math or music, Josiah is dedicated to helping children discover the joy of learning and the confidence that comes with true understanding.
Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology and has worked in education since 2005, including at Rutherford Elementary in Stillwater since 2015. There, he primarily supports 4th and 5th grade math. He has also been part of the Mathnasium team since 2016, where he enjoys guiding students toward success in mathematics.
Beyond teaching, Dan is active in the Pierce County Historical Association and has written two local history books, with a third in progress. He also enjoys collecting 1980s toys, comics, music, movies, and Star Wars memorabilia.
Rick is a native Nebraskan who moved to Stillwater in 2019 with his wife (and dog, Niya) after they retired. He has an engineering degree, but spent most of his career in customer support at a software company. Rick has always loved math and his high school math teacher was one of the most influential people in his life. At Mathnasium, he is able to pass along his love of math to the students.
Rick is a bird bander (at Carpenter Nature Center) and an avid, life-long nature enthusiast. He also enjoys golf, disc golf and maintaining the gardens and woodlands at their home. He and his wife have five grown children and nine grandchildren.
Matteo likes playing games with his friends. He also enjoys playing the cello and golfing. Matteo likes working at Mathnasium because he loves helping other people understand math.
Callan has always loved math and enjoys helping people understand math better. He likes coding, playing the violin and piano, and playing games with friends. Callan also participates as part of the tech crew and pit orchestra for school theatre productions.
Qianyi has loved math since she was little and will always enjoy learning more about it! She plays the violin and piano and is constantly baking! Qianyi chose to work at Mathnasium because she wants to spread the joy of math to others!
