Andrew

Center Director

Born in Spokane, WA, and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Andrew Reese has always had a passion for sports, education, and mentorship. He grew up playing hockey and a variety of other sports, developing a strong work ethic and team-first mentality. With a mother who taught math for almost 30 years, education was always an important part of his life.
After spending five years as a teacher and coach, Andrew gained valuable experience in leadership and education, helping students grow both academically and athletically. His background in sports and teaching has shaped his approach to problem-solving and personal development. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and embracing new challenges on and off the course.

Nikolai

Lead Instructor
Nikolai is a current freshman at College of Southern Nevada, working towards a Bachelor's in Computer Science aspiring to become a Software Engineer. He was born in the Philippines and moved to Las Vegas at the age of two. He enjoys teaching math to kids and loves the environment that Mathnasium provides for these students. Outside of Mathnasium he enjoys playing video games along with working on programming passion projects.

Sydney

Lead Instructor
Sydney was born and raised in Las Vegas, but most of her family is from New Jersey. She's currently a junior at UNLV, and is working towards her Bachelor's in English Literature. She has a love and passion for math, and has been helping tutor friends for years. She joined Mathnasium in order to help kids excel in math, and to develop better skills with both mathematics and instructing. Her interests consist of reading, hockey, music, and mathematics.

Angelo

Instructor

Angelo is a senior in AP Calculus AB at West Tech who is super excited to teach students math alongside his fellow instructors. Angelo will be attending MIT next year as a Physics major and hopes to inspire students to become passionate about learning new math.

Morgan

Instructor

Morgan graduated from UNLV in 2022 with a bachelors of Science in Mathematics. He started working at Mathnasium in 2018 where he discovered a passion for explaining mathematical concept to students who were needing things explained in a clear way. His goal is to help convince everyone he meets that math is not as hard or scary as people often like to say. When he is not working at Mathnasium he works for a youth outreach program out of Nellis. With some free time Morgan likes to hang out with his family and talk about anything that is considered to be nerdy as those are his topics of interest.

Greg

Instructor
Mr. Greg is a retired Mathematics teacher and high school administrator. After 27 years with the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, he retired and took a brief 6 month break from any formal work responsibilities. However, he determined that helping students in math was still his passion, and thus began working for Mathnasium. In his spare time, he is an avid golfer, pickleball player, and fan of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team. Mr. Greg understands how success in education builds confidence in students, and sets them up for continued success in their future. He believes that all students have a desire to learn and that all a student needs is the right motivation. Mathnasium not only offers a great curriculum and assessment process, but provides Mr. Greg with the required tools to help incentivize his students. Mr. Greg enjoys working with the younger students and loves to see their faces when they comprehend a concept. Student smiles are Mr. Greg's primary reward when working at Mathnasium!!

Lucas

Instructor
Lucas is a junior at West Career and Technical Academy. He is currently enrolled in the engineering program, and taking AP calculus AB. His constant love for math has always led him to share his knowledge with others, and also used to tutor his friends who would be struggling in math. Lucas used to be a student at Mathnasium, and can atest to the effectiveness of the cirriculum that he now teaches. Math can be a struggle to grasp, so Lucas connects with the students and encourages them in a way that is fun and engaging, leading the students to find their own "Ah-ha" moment with math.

Nadav

Instructor
Nadav first joined Mathnasium for the job experience and to do teaching. However, as he continued to work here, he started to enjoy teaching math to students as he thought he was really helping them. Besides math, Nadav really enjoy history and reading fantasy books, with his favorite series being Percy Jackson.

Raymond

Instructor
Raymond is a retired CCSD high school math teacher, before that he was a computer engineer from Silicon valley, Calif. He specializes in explaining math in relatable terms. He enjoys seeing children's smiling faces when they understand. That is the sole reason he is there - for the kids.

Nicklaus

Instructor

Nicklaus is a soon to be junior at UNLV, majoring in Accounting. Nick is here at Mathnasium to help students with their math skills. As someone who experienced taking math classes during the pandemic, he dislikes seeing students struggle with the subject. On his free time, he enjoys playing bass and studying his major.

Sierra

Instructor

Sierra is currently an environmental engineering Ph.D. student studying at UNLV. Sierra has worked at Mathnasium for many years and especially appreciates the working environment this tutoring center fosters. Sierra has a passion for math and helping others understand new concepts and achieve their goals. Sierra's interests include hiking, playing basketball, doing research, and spending time with friends and family.

Kennedy

Instructor

Kennedy loves music, science, and math. She is an environmental science student and enjoys being able to work with others to achieve their goals! In her free time Kennedy loves to play video games, take her dog on walk and write.


Benjamin

Instructor
Benjamin is a junior at UNLV working towards his statistics degree. In previous years he has helped over 20 juniors prepare for the ACT/SAT. At Mathnasium he continues to watch over student's development and help them make the intuitive connections that make math fun. As hobbies he enjoys music and digital media.

Emile

Instructor

Emilie is a Senior at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts where she is a violinist in the orchestra program. She has lived in Las Vegas her whole life. Emilie loves the environment and seeing the joy understanding math brings to our students and families. Outside of Mathnasium, Emilie enjoys performing violin, watching films, traveling, and video games.


Jillian

Instructor
Jillian is a current senior at Advanced Technologies Academy who will attend UNLV next year to pursue Electrical Engineering. She aspires to work at NASA or become a planetarium director. Her hobbies include playing video games, reading, drawing, cosplaying, and stargazing. Jillian has had her fair share of struggles with math, and it was thanks to her teachers who always encouraged her that she grew to love and excel at it. She hopes to extend that to Mathnasium and become a positive influence to her students by encouraging them to apply themselves no matter how challenging math can get.

Dan Saposhnik

CEO and Owner
Dan graduated from the University of Arizona in 1985 with a B.S. in Microbiology and from Hofstra University's Graduate School of Business in 1990 with an MBA in Accounting. He worked as a CPA with public accounting firm Price Waterhouse and has built successful companies in various fields including real estate and executive recruiting. Dan's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. His mother was a highly regarded principal in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. Dan has taught and tutored children of all ages and was a mentor for underprivileged children. Dan is committed to significantly increasing Las Vegas children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their overall school performance. "We provide lots of warm encouragement in a very positive learning environment so that children build their confidence and develop a winning attitude towards math. Our kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them. They get excited about math and this spirit carries over into everything they do."

Laurie Wasser Saposhnik

VP and Co-Owner

Laurie graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Before joining Mathnasium, she built a successful career working with Fortune 500 high-tech companies, including IBM, SAP, EMC, TIBCO, and MicroStrategy.
Laurie’s passion for teaching and working with children is deeply rooted in her family values. Her father, a dedicated special education teacher, spent over 30 years shaping young minds in California. Following in his footsteps, Laurie is committed to empowering children in the Las Vegas community by improving their math skills, fostering a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, and building their confidence to succeed academically.
In addition to her work at Mathnasium, Laurie volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where she advocates for the best interests of children in foster care. This role reflects her dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and supporting their growth and well-being.
