Born in Spokane, WA, and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Andrew Reese has always had a passion for sports, education, and mentorship. He grew up playing hockey and a variety of other sports, developing a strong work ethic and team-first mentality. With a mother who taught math for almost 30 years, education was always an important part of his life.
After spending five years as a teacher and coach, Andrew gained valuable experience in leadership and education, helping students grow both academically and athletically. His background in sports and teaching has shaped his approach to problem-solving and personal development. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and embracing new challenges on and off the course.
Angelo is a senior in AP Calculus AB at West Tech who is super excited to teach students math alongside his fellow instructors. Angelo will be attending MIT next year as a Physics major and hopes to inspire students to become passionate about learning new math.
Morgan graduated from UNLV in 2022 with a bachelors of Science in Mathematics. He started working at Mathnasium in 2018 where he discovered a passion for explaining mathematical concept to students who were needing things explained in a clear way. His goal is to help convince everyone he meets that math is not as hard or scary as people often like to say. When he is not working at Mathnasium he works for a youth outreach program out of Nellis. With some free time Morgan likes to hang out with his family and talk about anything that is considered to be nerdy as those are his topics of interest.
Nicklaus is a soon to be junior at UNLV, majoring in Accounting. Nick is here at Mathnasium to help students with their math skills. As someone who experienced taking math classes during the pandemic, he dislikes seeing students struggle with the subject. On his free time, he enjoys playing bass and studying his major.
Sierra is currently an environmental engineering Ph.D. student studying at UNLV. Sierra has worked at Mathnasium for many years and especially appreciates the working environment this tutoring center fosters. Sierra has a passion for math and helping others understand new concepts and achieve their goals. Sierra's interests include hiking, playing basketball, doing research, and spending time with friends and family.
Kennedy loves music, science, and math. She is an environmental science student and enjoys being able to work with others to achieve their goals! In her free time Kennedy loves to play video games, take her dog on walk and write.
Emilie is a Senior at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts where she is a violinist in the orchestra program. She has lived in Las Vegas her whole life. Emilie loves the environment and seeing the joy understanding math brings to our students and families. Outside of Mathnasium, Emilie enjoys performing violin, watching films, traveling, and video games.
Laurie graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Before joining Mathnasium, she built a successful career working with Fortune 500 high-tech companies, including IBM, SAP, EMC, TIBCO, and MicroStrategy.
Laurie’s passion for teaching and working with children is deeply rooted in her family values. Her father, a dedicated special education teacher, spent over 30 years shaping young minds in California. Following in his footsteps, Laurie is committed to empowering children in the Las Vegas community by improving their math skills, fostering a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, and building their confidence to succeed academically.
In addition to her work at Mathnasium, Laurie volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where she advocates for the best interests of children in foster care. This role reflects her dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and supporting their growth and well-being.
