Q: How does Mathnasium celebrate its student's success?
A: We have a brag board in our waiting area to display test scores. When they bring in an A, they get a Brag Card and a small treat! We also showcase students on our social media. There's a student of the month post and multiple opportunities for students to show off their accomplishments.
Q: Tell me about student’s reactions to having their work on the brag board.
A: Students get very excited to come in after a test that they studied for with us and then tell me that they got a B or an A! I can feel the confidence and excitement coming off them when they show me how well they did. Getting to put it up on the Brag Board is them proving that they are capable of doing math.
Q: What kind of work gets put up?
A: We post quizes, tests, and final grades where students get an A!
Q: Do you have a favorite memory of the Brag Board?
A: I had a student who had been working on her learning plan (she was 3 years behind where she was in school) finally pass the post test! Her confidence started to grow significantly and her homework began to make more sense to her since the fundamentals had been cleared. She brought in her first test of the school year and she had gotten 100%! It was great to see her so excited.
