Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Elizabeth Anacleto

Center Director

Elizabeth holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey and brings years of experience working with students from preschool through middle school. She spent five years teaching, eventually specializing in math instruction.

Her passion lies in helping students build confidence and develop a love for math—especially those who have previously struggled. Elizabeth is excited to bring her energy and experience to Mathnasium and help students reshape their relationship with math in a positive and lasting way.

Bari Diamond

Instructor

Bari is currently attending the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. A graduate of The Frisch School's engineering track, she took a gap year in Israel before heading to college. Bari served as Captain of the Frisch Fencing Team and was President of the American Sign Language Club.

As Matt’s daughter and favorite instructor (unofficially, of course), Bari holds honorary status on the team—even while away at school! She still joins Mathnasium online for regular shifts, continuing to bring her sharp mind, enthusiasm, and a love for teaching to our students.

Curabel Scott

Instructor

Curabel is a senior at Rutgers University with big dreams of becoming a neuroscience researcher. She’s fascinated by how the brain works and is passionate about sharing her love of learning with others.

Since joining Mathnasium over a year ago, Curabel has become a trusted mentor who helps students discover their own abilities in math. Her curiosity and kind, encouraging approach make her a student favorite at the center.

Valeria Cardenas

Instructor

Valeria is a graduate student at Rutgers University, currently earning her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Though new to the Mathnasium team, she brings strong academic dedication and a desire to help students build the confidence they need to succeed in math.

Valeria believes that with caring support and the right strategies, any student can master math—and even enjoy it along the way!

Willie Jackson

Instructor
I am currently a middle school math teacher for a charter school in Newark, New Jersey. I used to wrestle and play football in high school and I love to cook. I am a big believer that practice makes you better!

Huzaifah Bagasra

Instructor

Hi, my name is Huzaifah and I am currently a high school senior. I enjoy math because it challenges me to think critically and solve problems in creative ways. Outside of school, I like playing basketball, lifting and volunteering at the hospital and my local ambulance corps. I am excited to work at Mathnasium because I love helping others and want to make math easier and enjoyable for students.

Nadia Udochi

Instructor

Hello! My name is Nadia and my hobbies are reading and baking. I love math because it pushes me to be more curious and helps sharpen my problem solving abilities.

Luis Ferrera

Instructor

I'm currently a college freshman attending NJIT for Mechanical Engineering. My love for math stemmed from my AP Pre-Calc and AP Calc classes in high school where I learned more complicated aspects of mathematics which can be applied to real world problems in order to make a practical difference in society. I now work at Mathnasium to help other bright, young students develop a deeper appreciation and understanding for math as well.

Ibraheem Ahmed

Instructor

Hi, I'm Ibraheem Ahmed. I am a sophomore at NJIT and am working towards a mechanical engineer degree. I love Legos, F1 and video games. I wanted to work at Mathnasium because I enjoy tutoring people in general and love when math makes sense.

Alexander England

Instructor

Hi, my name is Alex and I am a senior at Teaneck High School. I love math because ever since a kid, I've loved numbers. I plan to major in finance so I can continue my passion. I wanted to work at Mathnasium because math is very important and everyone uses it everyday. My goal is to help everyone enjoy math just as much as I did.

Sami Diamond

Instructor

My name is Sami and I'm currently attending The Frisch School as a Junior. I am in the school's Medical Science track to prepare for a career in nursing. I have always had a passion for helping others, so I am very excited to be working at Mathnasium. Like many students, I have not always had a positive relationship with math, but I am now determined to help others excel in math with the Mathnasium way, like it has helped me as a former Mathnasium student.

Sawya Brown

Instructor

I am a graduate of Howard University with a degree in Psychology. I love all things math so thought teaching math would be rewarding. I also really enjoy completing jigsaw and sudoku puzzles in my spare time.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
