Nathan earned his B.S. in Business and Information Systems from the University of Southern California. He worked for nearly two decades in the computer and biotech industries and co-founded a music learning app company. Nathan and his family have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 20 years, where his daughter attends a local Catholic school.
He serves as the school board chair and enjoys giving back to the community. Nathan is passionate about education and leads with a focus on helping children develop confidence and curiosity through math.
Ray is a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in California with more than 18 years of experience in engineering consulting. He has worked across a range of disciplines, including mechanical, structural, electrical, and software validation, in both nuclear and pharmaceutical industries.
He earned his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his M.S. from the University of California, Davis, both in Mechanical Engineering. Outside of Mathnasium, Ray volunteers as a certified coach with Catholic Youth Organization sports teams and enjoys mentoring students both academically and athletically.
Kobe earned his B.A. in Pure Mathematics from San Francisco State University and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in the same field. He hopes to eventually earn a Ph.D. and contribute to the world of math research.
Kobe is passionate about helping students discover the elegance and logic of mathematics. His calm, thoughtful approach helps students feel comfortable exploring challenging concepts. When not teaching, Kobe enjoys video games and music.
Helen is a recent graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, class of 2023. She joined Mathnasium as an instructor to share her passion for math and help younger students develop a positive relationship with the subject.
In her free time, Helen enjoys singing and dancing. Her enthusiasm and cheerful energy bring a fun and supportive spirit to the center.
Simon is a high school sophomore at the Urban School of San Francisco. He serves as president of the school’s investment club and tutors peers in Mandarin. He also competes on the varsity soccer and tennis teams.
Simon enjoys building Lego sets, reading science fiction, and watching soccer. He values the importance of understanding why math works, not just getting the right answer, and enjoys helping students develop that same mindset.
Madison is a senior at the Nueva Upper School in San Mateo. She enjoys the logical order of math and hopes to help children better understand this process. Outside of academics, she enjoys doing and experiencing arts.
