My son loves his class because he says we don't just sit and do work, it is very important for children to have fun while doing work. Even getting the smallest reward motivates him to come to class.

We're 5 months into our 4th Grade son using Mathnasium. He started with very low confidence and is now way more confident and much quicker at basic math recall. Their motto is to make sure students "can't get something wrong" before proceeding to the next levels and it's been a good compliment to his school work where they move ahead regardless of his progress. The online classes are hands-free... meaning your child is given instructions then left to do work, then they check back a few times during the session. My son can raise his hand any time, ask questions, and is given opportunity to talk - but just encourage your student to speak up when they need to. It's not the same as having someone sit over their shoulder and for some kids that are passive, it works very well. For my Son I always tell him to try figure it out on his own, then as a question. The online booking is flexible and convenient. Very easy to move times around any day if you have things come up, the system is flexible.
