Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Crystal

Instructor

Crystal is currently a student at Cabrillo College with plans to become a software engineer. She enjoys algebra and prime numbers—especially the number 7—and loves exploring how math can be applied through coding and logic.

When she’s not at Mathnasium, Crystal enjoys spending time in nature, working on art and coding projects, and styling her own hair (a fun hobby she’s had since she was 16!). She finds it incredibly rewarding to help students find joy in math and believes that learning should always be engaging and personal.

Drew

Lead Instructor

I earned my B.S. in Mathematics from Gonzaga University and bring a strong analytical background to my work at Mathnasium. I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and reading in my free time. I love the welcoming atmosphere at Mathnasium and enjoy tailoring my teaching style to meet each student’s needs. My favorite number is 1729, the Hardy–Ramanujan number, which reflects my appreciation for the beauty and curiosity in mathematics.

Miguel

Lead Instructor

I am currently pursuing degrees in Accounting and Mathematics. I enjoy working with kids and creating a fun, supportive learning environment, and I love seeing students grow and gain confidence. Outside of Mathnasium, I like spending time with friends and going on spontaneous adventures.

Emily

Lead Instructor

My favorite part of working at Mathnasium is not just helping students strengthen their math skills, but watching their confidence grow. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their faces light up when a concept finally clicks and they realize what they’re capable of.

Alexis

Assistant Center Director

Alexis earned her degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Irvine. She has loved math since childhood, spending time running math clubs, teaching during her studies, and now working with K–12 students to help them succeed.

In her free time, Alexis enjoys painting, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. What she loves most about Mathnasium is its positive learning environment, where students can gain confidence, build foundational skills, and develop a true love for math.

Jacob

Lead Instructor

Jacob is a student at CLU majoring in Computer Science, with minors in Mathematics and Data Science. In his free time, he enjoys line dancing and practicing karate. He loves helping the kids and supporting them as they grow in their math skills.
