This Week's Steam Workshops (7/9/24)

Jul 9, 2024 | Warrenton

This week was an exciting week at Mathnasium! First, students worked with Anthony to construct Mathnasium city. Come check it out in the center! Afterwards, they worked with a firefighter on fire safety and how different color fires are created. And last, students ended the week with a Mathnasium favorite - Slime! This year, students could choose between making colored slime, cloud slime, and magnetic slime! Next week, we get to meet 2 more local experts!

Check out this blog that shows how to demonstrate area and perimeter with magnet tiles: https://k5mathspot.com/4-area-and-perimeter-activities-that-bring-math-to-life/

This Week's Experts are Anthony, Brian, and Alex!

Alex L is a long time summer camp enthusiast! This is her third year making slime at summer camp and she is so excited to experiment with new materials and types of slime. Most of all, Alex is interested in learning about the properties of magnetic slime!
