Carla holds a BA in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Nebraska and a Certificate in Training Design and Development from the University of Maryland. She brings over 27 years of experience in curriculum design and team development to her role at Mathnasium.
Carla’s lifelong love of math and passion for youth development inspired her to open a Mathnasium center. She enjoys helping students thrive and gain confidence in math through individualized learning and meaningful engagement.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Math Education and has taught math and other subjects across a range of school settings. She brings years of experience working with students of all ages, including in private schools, boarding schools, and homeschool environments.
Melanie enjoys explaining math in creative ways to help students grasp difficult concepts. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, gardening, birdwatching, skiing, dirt biking, and listening to classical music.
Kanoa earned a BS in Architecture with a minor in Spanish from the University of Virginia. Her experience includes substitute teaching, tutoring math and Spanish, and homeschooling her two sons through high school.
Kanoa brings a practical and patient approach to teaching, drawing from her hands-on experience in construction, drafting, and math instruction. She enjoys helping students find the learning strategies that work best for them.
Anthony is a graduate of Fauquier High School with a strong interest in math, physics, and computer science. His favorite classes include AP Calculus BC and AP Computer Science, and he plans to pursue a career in cybersecurity.
Anthony enjoys theater and is active in the local Torch Drama Club. At Mathnasium, he’s committed to helping students tackle math challenges and build lasting confidence.
