Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Carol Petty

Lead Instructor

After retiring from a career in IT at Vanguard, Carol joined Mathnasium in 2019, returning to her roots in math education. She holds a Master’s in Math Education and has taught elementary, middle school, and even college algebra.

Carol loves seeing students have their “aha!” moments when math concepts finally click. She finds the Mathnasium program highly effective for all ages and enjoys helping students build confidence in their math skills. Outside of teaching, she cherishes the opportunity to inspire a deeper understanding of math in her students.

Josie Gallop

Instructor

Josie is a Computer Science student at West Chester University who has always loved math and problem-solving. At Mathnasium, she enjoys sharing that passion with students and helping them overcome challenges. She finds it especially rewarding when a student grasps a new concept or masters a difficult problem.

In her free time, Josie enjoys reading, playing video games, and drawing. She is excited to support students in developing their math skills and confidence.

Jake Tease

Assistant Director

Jake is a master’s student in Philosophy at West Chester University, where he also assists undergraduate students with their studies. His goal at Mathnasium is to make learning engaging and rewarding, ensuring students leave each session with greater confidence and enthusiasm.

Outside of teaching, Jake enjoys playing video games and creating digital illustrations. He is passionate about fostering a positive learning environment where students feel excited to explore and understand math.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
