At Mathnasium, the well-being of our families is always our first priority. We are keeping up with the latest information on the coronavirus (COVID-19) and wanted to share some notes with you on how we are working to keep our center the safest place it can be for your children.
We are emphasizing disinfectant standards for all students and staff and reinforcing the importance of proper handwashing procedures. We are also taking the following measures:
- No student should come into the center sick and/or with a fever
- If students start exhibiting symptoms of illness while in the center, such as a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, we will call their guardian to arrange for their immediate pick up and move the students to an isolated location until the guardian arrives
- Face masks or face coverings should be worn by students at all times
- All students should wash or sanitize their hands upon arrival and before they leave
- Students bring and use their personal pencils/erasers
- Two students sit at end of each side of a 10 feet table

- No more than 12 students at the center at once
- A sneeze guard will be placed at between students and the instructor
- Guardians can only drop off and pick up students from outside of the entrance
- No guardian is allowed to wait at the parent waiting area
- Parent conferences will be done virtually, if in-center conference is necessary, it will be done by appointment only
- We will check students in/out ourselves, students will not need to interact with the check-in/out tablet
- Instructors should not write on student pages, but rather utilize scratch paper to help with problem solving. Scratch paper should not be shared and it is for one-time use only
- Students move their binders to the instructor side of the table so the instructor can grade the page without touching the binder. The instructor only circles ones the student need to make corrections and model any instruction / corrections on scratch paper
- During this period, we will not be using games or manipulatives
We will continue to provide you with regular updates through emails and posts to our Facebook channel as this situation evolves. Please reach out to our center at any time if you have any concerns that we can address.
Be safe, and thank you for being a part of the Mathnasium of West Covina family.
