Iris grew up on a family farm in Montana, where math was part of everyday life. She earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Nebraska and spent 20 years raising her five children with her husband in El Paso.
Her passion for teaching reignited as a fifth-grade teacher at a Christian school, where she also served as Science Chair. Iris now works with Mathnasium students and substitutes in Canutillo ISD. She enjoys music, community involvement, and watching students succeed. For Iris, seeing students build confidence through math is the most rewarding part of her work.

Hello,
My name is Miguel Padilla and I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from UTEP. Growing up, math was always my favorite subject in school and I like to apply it in everyday activities. I have previous experience tutoring high school Algebra 1 students for almost a year and a half. I grew up playing soccer, and now play some golf whenever I have the chance. I also like watching football and Formula 1. My love for traveling is at an all-time high and I hope that I can continue to explore the world. I can speak a little Italian and German. I hope to help every Mathnasium student as much as possible.
Hello,
My name is Erik Vergara. I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. I am currently attending UTEP to pursue a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. My interests include music production, playing the guitar, reading, and swimming. In the future, I hope to be able to understand music and electrical engineering fully to design new musical hardware and software to make playing and producing music a simpler process for those who want to put their creativity on the map. As an instructor, my goal is to empower your child to think creatively with numbers, putting their intellectual potential on the map.”

Hello!
I am Ruby Loman. I was born in Hamilton, Ohio but, as an army kid, I've spent my whole life on the move till I settled in El Paso in 2010. I was in my high-school Math UIL team and I've always had a lot of fun learning new things. I'm currently finishing my Civil Engineering Technology bachelor's degree at NMSU and hope to aim for a master's degree in Civil Engineering. Before coming to Mathnasium, I worked as a tutor at Dona Ana Community College, helping students with countless subjects from calculus to coding to economics to physics to statistics and more! I really enjoy what I do and seeing everyone leave the tutoring center with less to worry about has always been a great motivator for me. Helping others has always been a great way for me to learn too. I'm glad that I can put my knowledge to good use.
