Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Scott Reding

General Manager

Scott holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from New York University. He has over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring students, ranging from elementary-aged learners to college undergraduates. Scott especially enjoys helping students build a strong conceptual understanding of math and watching the moment when everything clicks into place.

At Mathnasium, he thrives on turning confusion into clarity and giving students the confidence to tackle new challenges. Scott is committed to helping students discover the logic and beauty of mathematics.

Julie Lee

Director of Operations

Julie brings a strong passion for teaching and a deep love for math to her role at Mathnasium. As the first Education Director at West Newton, she helped establish a foundation for student success. After completing her master’s degree, Julie returned to help lead operations and continue supporting students.

She loves witnessing “lightbulb moments” when a concept finally makes sense for a student. Julie also values building strong relationships and showing how math connects to everyday life. Her enthusiasm helps create a welcoming and inspiring center environment.

Myrtha Chang

Franchise Owner

Myrtha holds a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Information Technology from M.I.T. After a successful consulting career at Oracle, she opened the first Mathnasium Center in Massachusetts.

As a parent in Newton, she understands how much families value math education. Her own experiences with the Singapore Math curriculum and her daughter’s learning journey inspired her to create a better way to learn math. Myrtha is proud that kids genuinely enjoy coming to Mathnasium, where math makes sense and learning is fun.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
