Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Washington – Seattle. A lifelong lover of numbers, he enjoys exploring complex mathematical concepts and making them understandable for students of all levels. Michael is passionate about creating a welcoming learning environment where students can build confidence and thrive. He believes that with the right support, every student can succeed in math.
Outside of Mathnasium, Michael enjoys playing the piano and traveling, always looking for new ways to grow and stay inspired.
Hannah earned her degree in Applied Mathematics from UC San Diego and brings a strong foundation in both math and leadership to her role. Originally from Northern California, she grew up helping her younger siblings with homework, which sparked her interest in teaching.
At Mathnasium, Hannah enjoys guiding students through challenging concepts and helping them discover that math can be fun and rewarding. She and her husband now live in Seattle and enjoy road trips to Oregon, where they visit family and spend time with her aunt’s llamas.
Hi, I’m Aiden! I’m majoring in Anthropology at UW, with a focus on Bio-cultural and Medical Anthropology. I love science and math and learning new things! In my spare time I like to do sudoku, play board games, and spend time with my dogs!
Francis combines a background in math, history, and performing arts to make learning engaging and meaningful for students. Raised in Seattle by two engineers, he developed a deep appreciation for math early on, whether solving problems, calculating recipes as a chef, or counting beats as a tap dancer.
After studying Math and History in New York City, Francis returned home to share his passion for learning with the community. He believes math is everywhere and enjoys helping students understand its real-world connections and the confidence it can inspire.
Laura moved to Seattle from Ohio in 2024 after earning dual degrees in Economics and Political Science. She currently serves with AmeriCorps in Seattle Public Schools and aspires to become an elementary school teacher. Laura has always enjoyed math and credits her father for helping her discover fun tricks and patterns at a young age.
In college, she grew passionate about how statistics and data analysis can be tools for positive change in communities. In her spare time, Laura enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her cats.
Hi, I’m Elsa! I’m a senior at Holy Names Academy here in Seattle. I’ve always enjoyed math and have fun helping others build confidence in it. I have experience tutoring both elementary and high school students and love finding new ways to help others. When I’m not studying or tutoring, I enjoy reading, playing piano, and spending time outdoors with my dogs!
Hey! My name’s Cora, and I’m a junior at West Seattle High. I’m a camp counselor over the summer, and have lots of experience working with kids. I’ve always loved math, and want to make learning a fun experience for every student. I love it when kids are as excited about math as I am.
Jared (he/him) began teaching guitar professionally right after high school and spent several years performing with multiple nationally touring music groups, even traveling internationally. In 2019, just before the pandemic, he decided to step back from music to pursue a new and “furious curiosity” about the natural world—and quickly fell in love with math. Jared is passionate about helping students see that they are far more capable than they believe, and he loves sharing his enthusiasm for learning, science, and mathematics with others.
Hello! My name is Keira and I am a junior at West Seattle High School. I have loved math as long as I can remember, and I am thrilled at the opportunity to help others discover that same joy. I have experience working at summer camps and babysitting, and enjoy working with kids! In my free time I love to be outdoors, anything artsy and spending time with loved ones.
Hi, I'm Simon. I'm currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. I enjoy solving complex problems using math and science. Outside of Mathnasium, I also enjoy hiking, listening to music, and challenging myself with strategy games.
I am a graduate of UW with a degree in math. I have taught for many years as a classroom math teacher and I have a passion for helping others with math. In my spare time I love playing scrabble or any other type of word game.
Hello, my name is Michael! I am going into my senior year at Portland State University, and I am majoring in Mathematics! I plan on getting my Master’s degree in education, and going on to become a high school teacher. I have always loved teaching, and I am extremely passionate about math education. Hi, my name is Eleanor! I am a rising sophomore at St. Olaf College where I am majoring in biology and dance, with a concentration in biomolecular sciences. I worked at the Mathnasium in my last two years of high school, and I am very excited to be back here for the summer! I love working at the Mathnasium because I like finding different ways to think about mathematical concepts. In my free time I like to knit, play board games, and hang out with my dog.
