Leigh brings a passion for learning and a diverse background to Mathnasium of Williamsburg NY. She earned her engineering degree from Cornell University and has previously served in the U.S. Army, worked in data science, and held roles in education.
At Mathnasium, Leigh is committed to helping every student reach their full potential. She believes in the power of math to build confidence and critical thinking, and she’s excited to lead a team dedicated to making math make sense.
Vishram is a senior at New York University, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. Originally from South Florida, he now enjoys exploring New York City and its sights.
He chose to work at Mathnasium to build meaningful relationships with students and witness their academic growth. Vishram finds joy in helping students gain confidence and understanding, and he loves seeing the moment math starts to click.
Leyla is a senior at Barnard College of Columbia University, majoring in Physics with minors in Mathematical Sciences and History. She’s passionate about math accessibility and student-focused learning.
Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, Leyla spends her free time biking, playing volleyball, and studying with friends. She was drawn to Mathnasium’s personalized approach and values being part of a team that makes math fun and achievable for everyone.
Josh is a sophomore at NYU with a deep passion for math and helping others grow. He enjoys making math approachable and showing students they can succeed with the right support.
At Mathnasium, Josh works with students of all ages and loves seeing their confidence grow. He finds great fulfillment in guiding students through challenges and celebrating their progress along the way.
Henry is a student at Brooklyn College (CUNY), majoring in Information Systems with a minor in Data Science. Originally from Yangon, Myanmar, he now calls Brooklyn home.
He’s passionate about creating a positive math experience for students and providing tailored support that builds understanding and confidence. Outside of work, Henry enjoys cooking, collecting watches, and taking long walks.
Hi, my name is Joseph! I'm a first year student at Columbia University majoring in Linguistics (I love languages) and originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. While I study Languages, I have a deep passion for math! Growing up, math was always something I struggled with, although through the patience of my parents and teachers I learned to love the subject and grew to truly appreciate its applications. Working at Mathnasium, I have the privilege of sharing my love of math with others in an environment that encourages growth and promotes patience! Outside of work, I love to learn languages, volunteer at my local soup kitchen, take long walks, and bicycle!
Hi! My name is Camille Fundingsland and I am a recent graduate from Elon University. As someone who grew up loving math class, it is important for me to help instill a sense of confidence and love for learning in the next generation. I enjoy getting creative with solving math problems. In turn, my goal is to work with students and show them that there are multiple ways we can conquer a challenge - both inside the classroom and out. In my free time I love creating art, reading, and taking frequent trips to the library.
Hi, my name is Abba Wilson. I am a recent graduate of Pomona College where I studied theatre and math. I grew up just outside the city in Westchester, NY. I've loved math since I was in middle school, fascinated by the problem solving involved and its applications in day to day life. Whether it was helping my little sister with her homework, collaborating with classmates, or working as a TA in college, I have always been excited by the prospect of helping other people as they learn and grow. At Mathnasium, my goal is to foster a positive learning environment for kids' to build confidence in themselves and their math abilities. In my spare time I enjoy board games, rock climbing, and seeing all different kinds of theatre.
Hello, my name is Braden! I graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 2019. I have a strong STEM background through my experience working in research within the energy industry. My experience leading hackathons led me to develop a strong passion for mentorship, and Mathnasium provides a perfect setting for developing strong math skills and ultimately growing confidence in one's own abilities. I didn't always have a good relationship with math, but through guidance from TAs and professors, I learned to love it. Outside of work, I love skateboarding and filming tricks with my friends. Math and skateboarding have one important thing in common, persistence!
Hi, my name is Mia! I am an NYU student pursuing my Master’s Degree and teaching certification in Art Education. I love working with young learners, and I’m thrilled to bring my teaching and tutoring experience along with my passion for learning to Mathnasium! In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, including running, hiking, and going to the beach. Whether I’m on a tough hike or working through challenging math problems with students, I bring a positive attitude, persistence, and plenty of encouragement to the task at hand.
Hi, my name is Avery (she / her)! I am a rising freshman at Harvard University. From contests to the classroom, I've always found math beautiful, and I hope to instill this same appreciation in students! I am especially passionate about equipping young women with mathematical skills and confidence. Beyond math, I also volunteer to teach citizenship and English classes! In my spare time, I love to read, write fiction and poetry, and take long walks.
