I’m a senior at Barnard College of Columbia University majoring in Physics with minors in Mathematical Sciences and History. I’m originally from Bethesda, Maryland, and spend my time biking, playing volleyball, and studying with friends. I wanted to tutor for Mathnasium after looking into the care with which students are treated within the classroom. The way tutors make sure students are getting the most efficient and suited approach for their needs really pulled me in. As a huge proponent of math being for everyone, and consequently, the fact that everyone is able to do math, for me, Mathnasium is the perfect place to teach.
Hello, I’m Bhone Kyaw, call me Henry! I’m a student at Brooklyn College (CUNY), majoring in Information Systems with a minor in Data Science. Originally from Yangon, Myanmar, I now call Brooklyn home. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, collecting watches, and taking long walks. I am dedicated to providing personalized care and attention to each student, tailored to meet their individual needs. Growing up with a strict approach to math, I wanted to help create a more positive experience for students. I believe math is for everyone, and with the right support, anyone can excel. I want kids to see math not just as problems and numbers but as a fascinating world full of numerical possibilities. I’m excited to be part of a program that embraces this philosophy, and I’m proud to represent Mathnasium!
Hello! My name is Syd Pargman and I recently graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics. I love math, and it has been special to help students solve quantitative problems, connect with math, and learn about the world. I also appreciate Mathnasium's focus on active problem-solving and believe this is a very effective way to learn math and develop related skills. Besides math, I am interested in economic research and am a big baseball fan.
Hi there! I’m Brayan, currently a freshman at NYU pursuing a dual major in finance and accounting. Being part of their educational journey is truly fulfilling, and I'm dedicated to fostering their academic and personal development.
Hi, my name is Zach. I graduated from Colby College in 2021 majoring in political science and minoring in Economics. Since 2021, I have worked on Wall Street as a Fixed Income trader. I have always loved Math. In fact from an early age I found myself helping my younger sister with math and hosting help sessions for her friends. In college I tutored and TA’d for statistics. I was drawn to tutoring at Mathnasium as a way to give back and show children that math can be fun! It is incredibly rewarding to help children. There is nothing better than watching a child’s excitement and relief when they finally understand a concept.
Hi, my name is Joseph! I'm a first year student at Columbia University majoring in Linguistics (I love languages) and originally from Fort Collins, Colorado. While I study Languages, I have a deep passion for math! Growing up, math was always something I struggled with, although through the patience of my parents and teachers I learned to love the subject and grew to truly appreciate its applications. Working at Mathnasium, I have the privilege of sharing my love of math with others in an environment that encourages growth and promotes patience! Outside of work, I love to learn languages, volunteer at my local soup kitchen, take long walks, and bicycle!
