Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Alec Vulfson

Lead Instructor

Alec holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics and a Master’s in Mathematics from NYU. Originally from Westchester County, he’s always loved math and supported peers through tutoring. At

Mathnasium of Wilton, Alec enjoys being part of a passionate, supportive team that makes math accessible and fun. His goal is to help students not only succeed, but thrive with confidence. His favorite part of teaching? Seeing those “aha!” moments when a concept clicks.

Kyle Ratner

Assistant Center Director

Kyle grew up in Wilton and studied Environmental and Ecological Engineering at Purdue University. In high school, he tutored nearly every subject (except French and Latin) and has always enjoyed helping others learn.

At Mathnasium, Kyle finds joy in seeing students light up when they master a new concept. He believes building math confidence leads to success in and out of the classroom, and he’s proud to be part of that journey.

Max Howard

Assistant Center Director

Max grew up in Westport and holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Purdue and a Master’s from Texas Tech. With a background in teaching and a passion for education, Max is dedicated to helping students tackle tough subjects with confidence.

He loves being part of a team that makes math less intimidating and more empowering for every learner at Mathnasium of Wilton.

Matthew Bodine

Instructor

Matthew studied Political Science at the University of Southern California but discovered a deeper interest in education along the way. He took honors math and college-level calculus in high school and brings that foundation to his role at Mathnasium.

Raised in Westchester County, Matthew’s early love for math was nurtured by his father. He has experience as a bilingual teaching aide at the Greenwich Spanish School and as a tutor in high school. Matthew enjoys helping students grow and looks forward to sharing many “eureka” moments as they build confidence and skills in math.

Michael Rafa

Instructor
I am a retired engineer and have always enjoyed the learning process and, in the past, helping my colleagues with their part time studies. Working with children on their math skills at Mathnasium of Wilton has been wonderful! Helping them gain confidence in their skills is so very rewarding. This is not your run of the mill tutoring experience. Each student is carefully guided, improving every day...while having fun at the same time!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
