• Where is Mathnasium of Winnetka located?

  Mathnasium of Winnetka is located on the south side of Hubbard Woods Park, right next to Once Upon a Bagel. We’re within walking distance of the Metra station and close to local family favorites like Graeter’s Ice Cream, Momsy’s Cafe, and Towne & Oak, making our center both easy to find and convenient for after-school visits. 

  We proudly serve students from Winnetka, Glencoe, and surrounding neighborhoods, including those in School Districts 35, 36, 37, and various private schools. Local schools we work with include:

• Do you offer online tutoring?

  Yes, Mathnasium of Winnetka offers both in-center and online tutoring.  

  Whether students attend online or in person, they receive personalized, face-to-face instruction from the same specially trained tutors in a supportive and engaging group environment.

• Is there a difference between online and in-person tutoring?

  No, the quality of instruction, structure of sessions, and level of care are the same whether students attend in person or online.  

  Online sessions are live and follow personalized learning plans created specifically for each student.

• What math classes can your Winnetka tutors help with?

  We work with students of all skill levels to help them learn and master any K-12 math class or topic, from early arithmetic and foundational math skills to Algebra and Geometry. 

  Our specially trained math tutors in Winnetka help students build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and improve academic performance.

• What does mathematics tutoring cost at Mathnasium of Winnetka?

  We offer math-only tutoring through a flat monthly membership with no long-term contracts. Most students benefit from attending 2–3 sessions per week. During your free assessment, we’ll help determine the right learning plan and schedule for your student.

• Is there a difference between the cost of online and in-center math tutoring at Mathnasium of Winnetka?

  No. Whether students attend in person or online, the cost of membership remains the same.

• Why do you require an assessment for enrollment at Mathnasium of Winnetka?

  Every student begins their Mathnasium journey with a diagnostic assessment. This helps us understand their current skill level, identify learning gaps, and determine their individual goals.  

  Assessment-based insights guide us in developing a personalized learning plan that puts them on the best path to long-term success in math.

• How do you teach math? What curriculum do you use?

  At Mathnasium of Winnetka, we use the Mathnasium Method™, our proprietary teaching approach that combines personalized learning plans with proven teaching techniques. 

  Building upon what the student already knows, we introduce new concepts gradually, breaking them down into manageable steps to help them fill in knowledge gaps, build solid foundational skills, and even transform how they think and feel about math.

• Do you work with advanced students or with students who are struggling with math?

  Yes. We work with students at all skill levels, whether they are looking to catch up, keep up, or get ahead on their math journey. 

  Students who are struggling with math benefit from personalized instruction and confidence-building support.  

  Advanced students can take part in enrichment programs that deepen their understanding and push their thinking further.

• Do you work with homeschooled students in Winnetka?

  Absolutely! We support students from all educational backgrounds, including homeschool, public, and private school families in Winnetka, Glencoe, and surrounding areas.

• Do you help students with their math homework?

  Yes. During each session, our tutors set aside time to help students with their math homework and ensure they understand the material they are covering in school.

• Does Mathnasium assign homework to students?

  No. All learning takes place in the center or during online sessions with our specially trained tutors. We don’t assign homework, which allows students to stay focused and make measurable progress during their time with us.

• Do you prepare students for standardized tests?

  Yes. We help students prepare for standardized and school-based math exams, including state assessments, ACT®, and SAT®. Our test prep programs combine personalized learning plans, targeted practice, and proven strategies to help students succeed.
