Katia Y.

Center Director
For the past 10 years, Katia has worked with children of all ages, each with their unique needs. By working for non-profits, educational psychology, and running nine after school programs, she has learned how to effectively communicate to student’s by showing them how to use their strengths to their benefit. Her goal in life is to make a difference wherever possible. By helping student’s build their confidence and encouraging them to succeed, she feels that she is reaching that goal each day. Katia’s interpersonal skills has won the confidence and admiration of our parents and student’s. She show’s empathy, concern, and commitment to what is best for our students. In her free time, she finds herself pulling random objects out of her dogs mouth and finding new restaurants to enjoy with loved ones.

Maya V.

Assistant Director
Maya graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Space Physics, second major in Astronomy & Astrophysics, and a minor in Applied Mathematics. She is currently attending Fullerton College to get her certificate in Computer Information Systems. Her favorite subject has always been math because it is fun and because there is always a correct answer to every problem. In her free time, Maya enjoys hobbies such as calligraphy, crocheting, learning new languages, and stargazing.

Kenny A.

Lead Instructor
Kenny is currently a senior at Hope International University majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in math and wants to become a high school math teacher. He has prior tutoring experiences with elementary school and high school students. He loves to see the “aha” moment when students figure out something they have been struggling with a concept. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, mostly baseball and football, and loves going to concerts.

Sophia P.

Instructor
Sophia is currently a first year student at CSUF and is working towards obtaining a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Teaching. Her goal is to become a high-school math teacher in the future. Sophia enjoys helping students learn new concepts and enjoys seeing the joy on their faces when they finally understand a difficult topic. In her free time, Sophia enjoys drawing/painting, singing, and playing the ukulele. She also enjoys reading books, watching movies, and listening to music in order to unwind.

Niki K.

Instructor
Niki has graduated from UC Riverside with a B.S. in General Applied Mathematics and is currently a first year graduate student at CSUF working to obtain her M.S. in Computational Applied Mathematics. She has around 10 years of tutoring experience in both K-12 and college level math, and has previously worked at another Mathnasium center for about 3 years. She has always credited her success in understanding math to her tutors growing up, and wishes to be the same influence to kids who are currently struggling now. Her passion in helping others and having them bridge the gap between the unknown and the "aha" lightbulb moment is what drives her to always come back to instructing. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts/music festivals, reading, and playing video games.

Michelle N.

Instructor
Michelle is currently a senior at Canyon High School and plans to attend Irvine Valley College next year to pursue studies in engineering and business, intending to transfer to a 4-year university. Mathematics and sciences are her favorite subjects in school, and she hopes to share her passion with fellow students. Her goal is to inspire students to find the same, if not greater, satisfaction in solving math problems as she does. Actively engaged in local community service, she enjoys helping others with a constant smile on her face. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and playing with her two cats, Mimi and Suki.

Beck R.

Instructor

Beck is currently a freshman at UC Irvine, pursuing a degree in computer engineering. He has a passion for mathematics, especially Olympiad math, such as the AMC and AIME tests. He enjoys helping others solve math problems and teaching them the skills to solve them independently. In addition, he has tutored students at all levels, from Pre-K to Calculus, and aims to share the joy of understanding a problem with every student. In his free time, he plays basketball and online games with his friends—or does math.

Ayesha L.

Instructor

Ayesha graduated from Troy High School and has been studying Biology at Santiago Canyon College for the past two years, with plans to transfer to a four-year university. She is interested in healthcare, particularly pediatrics and disease research, and has gained valuable experience through volunteering, internships, and working alongside medical professionals. She especially enjoys working with children, which has only strengthened her commitment to this field. Ayesha discovered a love for teaching in high school, particularly when helping kids tackle challenges in math. It has been incredibly rewarding for her to help others reach their goals. Outside of school and work, Ayesha enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and baking.

Ryan D.

Instructor

Ryan is currently attending Fullerton College and plans to transfer to a four-year university. He’s aiming for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, followed by an MBA in Business. While reflecting on his high school days, Ryan remembers the tough nights when he wished for extra help, which sparked his passion for tutoring. He believes that teaching others is an incredible skill to develop. With a strong appreciation for math, Ryan is working hard to become part of a community that helps everyone discover the joy of numbers.

Ibrahim A.

Instructor

Ibrahim is currently a sophomore at Fullerton College, with aspirations of pursuing a career in technology after graduation. He has a deep passion for mathematics and views every challenge as an opportunity for growth. Having tutored in high school, Ibrahim finds great fulfillment in helping others, particularly enjoying the moments spent tutoring his younger sister in math. Outside of academics, he is an avid basketball player, enjoys listening to music, and lives life like there is no tomorrow!
