Kenny is currently a senior at Hope International University majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in math and wants to become a high school math teacher. He has prior tutoring experiences with elementary school and high school students. He loves to see the “aha” moment when students figure out something they have been struggling with a concept. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, mostly baseball and football, and loves going to concerts.

Ian L.

Ian has recently graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Mathematics, and has over 6 years of experience tutoring students in math subjects from Kindergarten through college level math. Helping students understand mathematical concepts, achieve high scores in school, and take pride in their knowledge in mathematics is why Ian loves to teach. In his free time, he enjoys running marathons, developing software, and he is currently studying to get into a Masters program in Mathematics/Statistics.

Ryan L.

Ryan is a current first year student at Santiago Canyon College studying to transfer to Cal Poly SLO for environmental engineering. He is a former student at the Mathnasium location in Yorba Linda. He decided to return to Mathnasium after graduating to become one of the instructors he had looked up to as a kid. He sympathizes with kids that don’t enjoy math because he didn’t either as a kid. In his free time he enjoys playing games, biking in all kinds of places, and napping.

Sophia P.

Sophia is currently a first year student at CSUF and is working towards obtaining a degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Teaching. In her free time, Sophia enjoys drawing/painting, singing, and playing the ukulele. She also enjoys reading books, watching movies, and listening to music in order to unwind.

Niki K.

Niki has graduated from UC Riverside with a B.S. in General Applied Mathematics and is currently a first year graduate student at CSUF working to obtain her M.S. in Computational Applied Mathematics. She has around 10 years of tutoring experience in both K-12 and college level math, and has previously worked at another Mathnasium center for about 3 years. She has always credited her success in understanding math to her tutors growing up, and wishes to be the same influence to kids who are currently struggling now. Her passion in helping others and having them bridge the gap between the unknown and the "aha" lightbulb moment is what drives her to always come back to instructing. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts/music festivals, reading, and playing video games.

Michelle N.

Michelle is currently a senior at Canyon High School and plans to attend Irvine Valley College next year to pursue studies in engineering and business, intending to transfer to a 4-year university. Mathematics and sciences are her favorite subjects in school, and she hopes to share her passion with fellow students. Her goal is to inspire students to find the same, if not greater, satisfaction in solving math problems as she does. Actively engaged in local community service, she enjoys helping others with a constant smile on her face. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and playing with her two cats, Mimi and Suki.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
