Sonya is the Center Director at Mathnasium and holds a bachelor's degree in business management from American Intercontinental University of Illinois. Sonya was the department head of academic tutoring for a small community college in NC for 14 years. With a strong academic background and a passion for math, Sonya is committed to helping students have fun while building their foundation in math.
Outside of Mathnasium, Sonya enjoys ziplining, cars, science experiments, walking, music, and adventure. She loves being able to use her academic knowledge to show others how to have fun while learning.
Conne is the Team Captain at Mathnasium and holds a master’s degree in cognitive psychology from Mississippi State University. With a strong academic background and a passion for education, Conne is committed to helping students build confidence in their math skills and develop a love for learning.
Outside of Mathnasium, Conne enjoys crafting and expressing creativity through hands-on projects. Their thoughtful, student-focused approach helps create a supportive and engaging environment for learners of all ages.
Elena studied mathematics at the University of New Mexico and brings a wealth of experience and global perspective to her role. She and her husband, a retired Air Force veteran, have lived around the world, including in Europe and the Far East.
Now based locally, Elena enjoys spending her free time gardening. She’s passionate about helping students build confidence in math and loves seeing their growth through the Mathnasium Method™.
Sadie is a student at Virginia Peninsula Community College, where she is majoring in science and working toward a career in education. Her long-term goal is to become a teacher and inspire young learners.
Sadie brings a warm and engaging energy to her sessions at Mathnasium. In her spare time, she enjoys games and spending time with her two cats, who often keep her company while she studies.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the College of William and Mary. He has studied a wide range of scientific subjects, including physics, chemistry, biology, and anatomy, giving him a deep appreciation for how math connects to the world around us.
In his free time, John enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons and spending time with his cat, Brody. He brings a calm, supportive presence to Mathnasium and enjoys helping students grow in their confidence and problem-solving skills.
