Vishnu

Associate Center Director
Vishnu is a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and B.A. in Economics. Discovering his passion for teaching during high school, Vishnu has been tutoring and mentoring students since the age of 14 through various avenues, including as a research mentor for high school students through NASA. In his free time, Vishnu competitively solves Rubik's Cubes, listens to music, and loves to try new foods!

Cherry

Associate Center Director
Cherry is from China and came to the United States since high school. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Global Trade. One interesting fact about her is that she can speak 1 other languages and 2 dialect: Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese and Taiwanese. During her free time, she likes to works out, listens to music and spends time with friends and family.

Greg

Assistant Director
Gregory Dharman M.A.T. graduated from UCI with a Master's in Teaching and a Bachelor's in Mathematics specializing in Secondary School Teaching. He is also an IUSD teacher with experience on IVA and in-person instruction. With years of experience teaching taekwondo and being a public school teacher, he has a passion for changing lives and helping kids reach their fullest potential in anything they do. During this free time, he likes to eat good food and watch his favorite team, the LA Lakers, play basketball. One interesting fact about him is that he was an alternate member for the US National Taekwondo Team in 2013 and 2014.

Ryan

Lead Instructor
Ryan is a computer science student and game designer. Ryan has been tutoring for 7 years in many subjects and he has 2 years of previous Mathnasium experience. Ryan has worked with students of all ages and finds the most rewarding part of teaching to be the smile on the students faces when they finally understand a topic. During his free time Ryan hangs out with friends, makes and plays video games.

Loc

Lead Instructor
Loc is a recent UCLA Chemical Engineering graduate with a focus on water purification technology. He used to tutor his colleagues about math, chemistry and physics back in college; and hopes to use that experience to help kids build a strong mathematical foundation. When not tutoring or working in his research lab, he loves to play video games, bike around town, and talk about economics. He is also fluent in Vietnamese, his native language, and hopes to learn Japanese one day.

Tristan

Instructor
Tristan is a Senior at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing a B.S. in Earth System Science. As a high school student, He developed his passion for teaching as a Taekwondo instructor. In his free time he loves to play video games, lift weights and cook.

Sadie

Instructor
Sadie graduated from Vassar College in New York with a BS in Biology, with an emphasis in Animal Science. She has many family members who work with children, so she developed a deep appreciation for children and their unique personalities and ways of learning. She has tutored in many subjects since high school, and loves to help students grow more confidence in themselves. In the future, she plans to attend veterinary school abroad and receive a DVM. In her free time, she loves going to the beach, reading, going to festivals, and working with animals.

Dhaval

Instructor
Dhaval graduated from University of California, Irvine with a Master in Business Administration and also has a masters degree in computer science from CSU Long Beach. He used to tutor his colleagues about math and physics back in college; and hopes to use that experience to help kids build a strong mathematical foundation. In his free time, he loves to hike, watch movies, listen to music and someday would like to travel around the world!

Jasmine

Instructor
I am working on my B.S. in Mathematics at CSULB and would like to attend graduate school in Pure Mathematics. My passion for math came from working with great teachers along the way. Their encouragement helped ignite my curiosity for deeper understanding, and I hope that I can do the same with tutoring at Mathnasium. In my free time I like to play video games, read, and snowboard.

Armaan

Instructor
Armaan is currently at Beckman High School. He is passionate to teach math as he has taken many higher level classes at Beckman, and also is currently taking them at IVC too. He likes to play baseball as he is currently on Beckman’s varsity baseball team. He has also done 5 years of competition robotics in which he has competed at the world championships and also helped kids through robotics too!

Daniyal

Instructor
Currently planning to attend as a first-year UCI student as a biomedical engineering pre-med major, Daniyal has developed a passion and love for tutoring to help students ever since the beginning of high school. He does peer tutoring throughout his school in a club called the Future Endeavors in STEM, and has scored well and done private tutoring in various AP subjects, and has work experience with Boeing over the summer in the Chemistry lab. In his free time, he tutors students in Quranic Arabic, plays club basketball, volleyball, works out, and spends time with friends and family

Euan

Instructor
Euan graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics-Computer Science. Euan has always enjoyed pursuing math and began tutoring coding to children as a job during college. He now tutors Math and Computer Science and loves being able to share his knowledge with others to get younger students interested in these subjects. In his free time, he loves to play video games with friends, collect Hot Wheels and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and watch TV or movies such as Star Wars with his partner and two cats.

Connor

Instructor
Connor is currently a 4th year Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering double major at the University of California, Irvine. Connor discovered his enthusiasm for teaching by tutoring friends and peers in math and physics throughout high school and college. In his free time Connor likes to play with his dog, cook, listen to audiobooks, and watch movies.

Nathaniel

Instructor
Nathaniel is currently getting his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. Nathaniel’s career with math began at a very early age with his grandma who forced him to practice everyday. At the start it wasn’t very fun, however throughout the years he began to love and cherish the beauty of math and its undeniable importance. He is grateful for the skills he has obtained and hopes to pass it on to the children as well as show them how amazing math truly is. Some fun facts about Nathaniel are that he worked as an electrician, can speak Hungarian, and loves old electronics. When he is not working he loves swimming, weightlifting and reading.

Anita

Instructor
Anita is currently attending Irvine Valley College and is studying to become a computer scientist, hopefully specializing in cyber security or software development. Anita found her passion for math at Northwood High School. She used to struggle with math growing up, but after moving to the States, she began to find it easier. Over time she started doing well in math and began teaching it to her friends who didn’t understand and continued to do so ever since. She loves teaching math not only to help students learn but also to personally get better in mathematics.

Elaine

Instructor
Elaine is currently a freshman at University of California, Irvine with Computer Science major and Bioinformatics minor. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She loves to engage with kids and solve problems. In her free time she likes to dance and play guitar.

Emmy

Instructor
Emmy is a student at Irvine Valley College working towards her BA in philosophy with a focus in pre-law. Throughout High School and the start of college, she tutored students of all ages in math. These experiences helped develop her passion for teaching and education. In her free time, Emmy loves to listen to classical music, read, and play video games.

Ahmad

Instructor
Ahmad graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in computer science. He is passionate about teaching math because it is the foundation of all sciences and having a deep understanding of math fundamentals will help to reach new milestones in science. He has about three years of tutoring experience. In his free time he likes to fly planes, play video games, and read poetry.

Jenny

Instructor
Jenny joined Mathnasium in the spring of 2023 as a math instructor. She is a first year student at IVC, studying Psychology. She first began tutoring students at her high school tutoring club. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks and playing tennis.

Minho

Instructor
Minho Beak is a current senior at Woodbridge High School who will be attending Tufts University in the Fall of 2024 with a major in clinical psychology and brain science. He is also currently trying to complete EMT schooling to become an EMT and help others. Minho has always been passionate about teaching when his friends would ask him questions regarding Calculus and they would always say it felt like he was translating a foreign language to English for them. Minho also has experience teaching English writing for elementary school students. In his free time, he greatly enjoys learning new languages, researching politics, copywriting, and working with others to research medicine.

Shinya

Instructor
Shinya graduated from University of California Berkeley with a B.S in Environmental Economics and Policies. He grew up in Irvine and went to Culverdale Elementary School, South Lake Middle School, and Woodbridge High School. During his time at UC Berkeley, Shinya tutored students at the school’s Japanese department. One interesting fact about him is that he’s been playing soccer professionally since 2019. During his free time, Shinya likes to go to coffeeshops, play video games, and workout.
