Sharon Palardy, M.Ed.
Center Director/Owner
Sharon was born and raised in New Orleans, LA and has been a resident of Hampton Roads since 2001. When Sharon was 14, she begged her parents to volunteer at a local hospital. She knew from an early age that it was her passion to help others. Having studied piano since the age of 8, she decided to combine both her love of music and helping others. She received a music scholarship to Loyola University (New Orleans) where she completed a bachelor's degree in music therapy. Sharon furthered her education by going back to school and receiving her master's degree in special education from the University of New Orleans. After several years of being a Special Education teacher, she decided that she wanted to specialize in teaching students with visual impairments. She has been teaching students with visual impairments now for almost 20 years.
Our personal experience with Mathnasium:
Our daughter began attending a local Mathnasium in September 2017. At that time, we enrolled her due to test anxiety. She would choke up on every timed test that was given to her. The teacher kept telling us that she didn't know her math facts. As parents, we were very frustrated. We were unable to help her on our own. Not only did Mathnasium eliminate her test anxiety but she has now grown into a confident math student and is now excelling in math. Our mission is to help other parents going through the same experience. We've seen first hand how Mathnasium's unique program can help students.
