Stephanie

Center Director
I am a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate with a B.S in Chemistry - Biochemistry concentration. Ever since I was little, I had fostered a great passion for Mathematics. I truly enjoyed applying the knowledge that I’ve acquired in class in solving challenging problems as I saw them as some sort of fun game rather than a task. In spite of my love for Math, I still had to go to a supplemental math academy back then in order to solidify my math foundation as well as fill in any gaps that I had. For such a reason, I wanted to become a Mathnasium instructor to help kids excel in math as I’m aware of the importance of a supplemental academy like Mathnasium on the journey of becoming a great, successful mathlete.

Jenesis

Lead Instructor
I am a Virginia Tech graduate with a BS in Mathematics. When I was young, I did well in my math classes but never really had a big passion for it. However, after taking calculus in high school I saw a glimpse of how beautiful math can really be, and my passion for it started to develop. I even started to teach myself all sorts of interesting mathematics in my spare time just for fun. My hope is that I can help others enjoy and succeed in the subject I love and potentially foster a similar passion for math in others!

Josh

Instructor
I am a senior attending Virginia Tech as a Computer Science Major. I was greatly helped along by friends, colleagues, and teachers when I studied calculus in high school and continue to be helped along by those same people now in more advanced classes like Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. I understand how helpful a program like Mathnasium can be in fostering mathematical literacy. As an instructor, it's my sincere hope that I can do my part, however small, to help students understand the world a little better through math."

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
