The Director

The Center Director, at Mathnasium of Riverview, is a retired engineer, with experience in civil/environmental and mechanical engineering.   He has two children, 12 year old son and 30 year old daughter.

He is an avid volunteer, and gives his time freely to mentor and teach young people.

He believes, and makes it possible, for the Mathnasium Method to be available for

ANY AND ALL students that are in need of math help!

Regardless of socio-economic status.

As a substitute teacher at the Kid's Community College- Southeast campus teaching K through 4th grade, he continually volunteered to help maintain and repair the facility.  Making sure the kids had a safe and clean environment to learn, the Campus Director was so pleased with his teaching and demeanor with the kids that she hired him as the Director of the after-school program Impact Children For Life (ICFL).

Soon afterwards, it became clear what he wanted to do- teach kids full time and concentrate on math, engineering and sciences.  The idea of the Mathnasium of Riverview was born.

He has a way with teaching kids and keeping them focused and curious.  He is very compassionate and wants to see EVERY kid get their fair chance at success through math sense.

He feels that every kid can succeed at math if they are taught in a way that actually makes sense to them as an individual!

And at Mathnasium, we make math make sense.

 His credentials :

- Certified instructor at Mathnasium

- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering

- Master of Science in environmental engineering

Danya Abuamaish

Subject Matter Expert (SME):

Pre-Calculus

My name is Danya Abuamaish, and I’ve always loved math even at a young age. I am currently a senior in high school and I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I had one of the top scores on the ACT in my entire class. I plan to take AP calculus during senior year and I’m aiming to major in engineering to further my knowledge in mathematics. I am a current member of the National Honors Society and a member of the Humanitarian Outreach Club. My favorite math subject would have to be Pre-calculus. What I enjoy the most about working in Mathnasium are the unconventional methods of teaching math and the fact that these methods stick with children forever. Mathnasium also helps create a healthy environment for children to enjoy math and to excel in ways they never thought they would.

With a high level of involvement, I dedicated over 20 hours with peer tutoring in math either after school or on weekends during FSA crunch time. I’m a prospective recipient of the AICE diploma and FL Academic Scholarship. In Spring of 2019, I will officially become a gator at the University of Florida Innovation Academy studying psychology under the neuroscience track. I have a 12 year old brother and 7 year old sister and I love helping them with school work. Seeing kids clicking the wonders of math or even just any concept in general is incredibly exciting. I know that my dedication to learning, teaching and creativity will enhance each and every kid’s experience at Mathnasium of Riverview.
