Becky McDaniels, a lifelong Hillsborough County resident, and proud owner/operator of Mathnasium of Brandon, Mathnasium of Riverview, and soon to be Mathnasium of Parrish, where she is dedicated to helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational math skills, and discover that math can truly make sense.
Becky holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Tampa and brings many years of classroom experience to her work. As a former Math Coach and Curriculum Specialist, she has helped guide both schools and students to outstanding results, including achieving some of the top math scores in the county. Her passion for helping children succeed in math led her to bring the Mathnasium Method to the Brandon, Riverview and Parrish communities.
Under Becky’s leadership, her Mathnasium centers have become trusted partners with local schools and families. Through school partnerships, Math Nights, Math Bowls, and community STEM events, Becky and her team are committed to making math engaging, approachable, and empowering for students at every level.
Becky’s centers have earned multiple awards, and she has been honored with the Mathnasium Artichoke Award, recognizing her dedication, leadership, and commitment to changing lives through math.
Outside of Mathnasium, Becky is deeply committed to her community. She serves on the board of Impact Program, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping teens, parents, and educators build healthy relationships and life skills.

Baylor is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Brandon and a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Mathematics. He’s been part of the Mathnasium family for over a decade, growing from instructor to leadership roles thanks to his dedication and sense of humor.
He enjoys tabletop games, sharing photos of his two dogs, and—according to him—telling the world’s best math jokes. His favorite number is 24 for its many factors, and he believes Mathnasium is a place where confidence and curiosity in math can thrive.
Lisa served 25 years in the United States Air Force before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Now, as a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium, she’s passionate about giving back and helping students grow their confidence in math.
A lifelong math enthusiast, Lisa was active in her high school Math Club and later took advanced college-level math courses. Outside of Mathnasium, she loves spending time with her kids and building Lego creations. Her favorite number is 25 (her lucky number) and she believes learning math should always be fun and empowering.
Chris brings a lifetime of teaching experience to Mathnasium, having taught high school math for over 50 years. She holds a degree in Math Education from Bob Jones University and taught everything from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus while moving across the globe as a Navy wife.
After retiring, she found a second home at Mathnasium, where she continues to share her love of math with students. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, crocheting, exploring lighthouses, and traveling with her family.
Jackie graduated from University of Miami and University of South Florida with a degree in Elementary Education and has been in education for 19 years. She has a passion for teaching students math and science and that has been the focus the whole time in the classroom.
In her spare time, she is a Mom to 2 daughters and a dog Mom to her beagle Brodie.
Nick is a passionate math teacher at Sumner High School with over 10 years of teaching experience in both California and Florida. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona and loves helping students truly understand why math works, not just how.
Nick loves working at Mathnasium because it gives him the opportunity to connect with students one-on-one, build their confidence, and help them discover that they can be successful in math. Watching students grow, overcome challenges, and celebrate their wins is what motivates him every day.
Outside of Mathnasium and the classroom, Nick is an avid sports fan who enjoys making it to Tampa Bay games whenever he can. He also loves trying new recipes in the kitchen and exploring all the hidden gems Florida has to offer.
Molly is a student at UF studying mechanical engineering. She recently graduated from Riverview high school, where she excelled in many higher level math classes including AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and Dual Enrollment College Algebra, as well as other higher level STEM courses such as AP Chemistry and AP Physics. She also served as the Student Government president, and was in multiple clubs such as National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Math honor society, and Senior Steering, and was a member of the Varsity Soccer team. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her dog Winston, going to the beach, doing crafts, and spending time outside. Molly loves working at Mathnasium because she gets to help kids have fun doing math.
Ryan is currently a student at Hillsborough Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts through the Pathway to Engineering program. He is now working toward a degree in Aerospace Engineering and plans to continue his studies at Western Michigan University. Ryan has big dreams of one day pursuing the Air Force pilot pipeline and an engineering career, with the ultimate goal of becoming an astronaut and exploring planets like Mars.
Ryan loves working at Mathnasium because it allows him to share his passion for math, problem-solving, and engineering with younger students. He enjoys helping students see math as something exciting and powerful, an essential tool that can open doors to incredible futures, just like the one he’s working toward himself.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys reading, learning, and tinkering with hands-on projects, always looking for ways to turn curiosity into something real and meaningful.
Jacob is a student at the University of South Florida. He has always excelled in higher math courses completing up to calculus 3 by the end of his Junior year in high school. He plans to pursue a career at Universal Creative as an attraction designer for the Universal parks. Jacob also has a passion for theatre and has been performing since he was 5 years old. He has performed in many plays and musicals as well as getting the chance to be in the directors chair! When he is not performing he is usually rehearsing for a performance. At Mathnasium Jacob hopes that students will grow and excel in math and find the love for it that he has had his whole life.
Isabel is a student at UF to pursue mechanical engineering degree and graduated from Newsome High School. She has completed rigorous courses like AP Pre-Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and other Advanced Placement classes during her time at the school. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and an avid member of the STEM club, which she has been part of since 5th grade.
In her free time, she likes to go to the beach with her friends and bake. Her favorite subject is math, and she loves to teach students to enjoy the subject.
James is a student at University of South Florida pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Biology. He is also following a pre-med track and hopes to attend medical school after graduation. James graduated from Lennard High School, where he completed rigorous coursework including AP Calculus AB and AP Chemistry. Through dual enrollment at Hillsborough Community College, he also completed College Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and Statistics. During his first year at USF, he continued to build his strong math and science foundation through courses such as Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential Equations, Physics I, and Physics II.
While at Lennard, James was an active member of the National Honor Society and Key Club, and served as an officer of the school's Math Club. Through these organizations, he completed nearly 200 volunteer hours and participated in multiple regional and statewide math competitions in Geometry and Calculus.
James loves working at Mathnasium because it allows him to share his passion for mathematics while helping students build confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills. He enjoys guiding students toward understanding concepts for themselves and helping them discover that math can be both approachable and rewarding.
Outside of school and Mathnasium, James enjoys spending time with friends, going on adventures, playing card and board games with family. He is passionate about learning and hopes to inspire students to develop the same appreciation for math that has helped shape his own academic journey.
Gui is a senior at Newsome High School with a strong passion for mathematics, science, and learning. He has completed challenging coursework including AP Pre-Calculus, AP Physics I, and AP Macroeconomics/Microeconomics, and plans to continue advancing his studies with AP Calculus BC and AP Chemistry. Gui has also competed in the Brazilian Math Olympiad and the Brazilian Astronomy Olympiad, earning multiple medals for his achievements along the way.
At school, Gui serves as the Vice President of the Math Club, where he enjoys collaborating with fellow students who share his enthusiasm for mathematics and problem-solving.
Gui loves working at Mathnasium because it gives him the opportunity to share his love of math with others. He enjoys helping students build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and discover that math can be both rewarding and fun. Seeing students overcome challenges and gain a deeper understanding of concepts is one of the most fulfilling parts of his role.
Outside of school and Mathnasium, Gui is a big sports fan with a special love for basketball. He enjoys spending time with friends, meeting new people, watching movies, and finding new ways to learn and grow. His positive attitude and passion for teaching make him a valuable member of the Mathnasium team.
Lisa is the friendly face and passionate heart behind Mathnasium’s community connections. As our Community Outreach Coordinator, she helps bridge the gap between our centers and the families we serve building relationships with schools, local organizations, chambers of commerce, and community partners to ensure more students have access to the math support they need.
Her love for the community shines through everything she does. Whether she’s coordinating Math Night events, representing Mathnasium at festivals, or volunteering at her church’s food pantry, Lisa brings warmth, joy, and genuine care to every interaction.
After overcoming two cancer diagnoses, Lisa has made it her mission to advocate for preventative cancer care and to make the most of every moment especially those spent with her family. Her strength, optimism, and resilience inspire everyone around her.
Parents, students, and partners alike feel instantly welcomed by Lisa’s bright spirit. She has a remarkable ability to connect, encourage, and build trust, making her an essential part of the Mathnasium family and a true light in our community.
