Richard Lo
Lead Instructor
Richard is the Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Sunset and a proud graduate of the University of California, Davis, where he earned his degree in Mathematics in 2014. Since then, he has tutored students from kindergarten through college, covering subjects such as math, statistics, physics, and computer science.
He currently takes enrichment courses at the City College of San Francisco to continue expanding his knowledge. Richard believes every student can develop a love for problem-solving and takes pride in helping them gain confidence and curiosity through math.
Hector Diaz
Instructor
Hector graduated from the University of Portland in 2021 with a degree in Mathematics and has experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds. Having faced his own challenges with math growing up, he knows how important encouragement and understanding are to student success.
His goal is to make math less intimidating and more enjoyable by creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. In his free time, Hector enjoys playing music and spending time outdoors exploring new places.
Jacqueline Summerfield
Instructor
Jacqueline has taught mathematics at both the middle and high school levels throughout the San Francisco area and has been part of the Mathnasium family for more than six years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mills College and a Master of Arts in Education, specializing in computer science, from Stanford University.
Alongside her love for teaching math, Jacqueline is a jazz and rock pianist and keyboardist. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, watercolor painting, and traveling, with memorable trips to Mount Everest, China, and France.
