Ixchel (pronounced E-shell) is the Center Director at Mathnasium and brings a strong academic background in Engineering, Math Education, and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. A former math teacher, she is passionate about inspiring students and empowering them through STEM education. Originally from Tempe, Arizona, she has lived in Seattle and now calls Florida home.
She is dedicated to helping students thrive through personalized instruction that builds both skills and confidence. Outside of work, Ixchel enjoys running, basketball, yoga, and spin class. She’s also a proud cat lover and an enthusiastic Taylor Swift fan.
Damian serves as Associate Center Director at Mathnasium, bringing decades of experience as both an educator and business professional. He earned a B.A. in Education from Oakland University and spent 20 years as a high school social studies teacher and coach before transitioning into a 20-year career in contract management.
His return to education reflects his renewed passion for teaching and supporting students’ growth in math. Damian understands what today’s workplace demands and values equipping students with the skills to succeed in an evolving world.
Christina is the Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Tallahassee and Tallahassee South. She is known for her vibrant, compassionate presence and uses her positivity to encourage students and team members. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in kindness, service, and empowering those around her.
She believes in the power of small acts to make a big difference, echoing the words of her favorite author, J.R.R. Tolkien: “It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folks that keep darkness at bay.” Christina brings this spirit to every student session and aims to help each learner realize their full potential.
Lauren earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida with concentrations in Math Education and Psychology. Her studies include advanced math topics such as Calculus I–III, Differential Equations, and Statistics. She joined Mathnasium in 2011 and has spent over a decade helping students grow through personalized instruction and encouragement.
She believes math should be both challenging and enjoyable, not a source of frustration. Lauren is dedicated to training instructors and inspiring students to build lifelong confidence in math.
Jodi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Math from Hope College and a secondary teaching certificate. She also earned a Master’s degree in Math Education and a Specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. She is also a certified gifted instructor.
With 20 years of teaching experience, Jodi has taught everything from 8th grade math to IB Math Studies. She loves watching students have breakthrough moments and believes every learner can succeed with the right tools, support, and guidance.
