Damian

Associate Center Director

Damian serves as Associate Center Director at Mathnasium, bringing decades of experience as both an educator and business professional. He earned a B.A. in Education from Oakland University and spent 20 years as a high school social studies teacher and coach before transitioning into a 20-year career in contract management. 

His return to education reflects his renewed passion for teaching and supporting students’ growth in math. Damian understands what today’s workplace demands and values equipping students with the skills to succeed in an evolving world.

Christina

Lead Instructor

Christina is the Lead Instructor at Mathnasium of Tallahassee and Tallahassee South. She is known for her vibrant, compassionate presence and uses her positivity to encourage students and team members. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in kindness, service, and empowering those around her. 

She believes in the power of small acts to make a big difference, echoing the words of her favorite author, J.R.R. Tolkien: “It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folks that keep darkness at bay.” Christina brings this spirit to every student session and aims to help each learner realize their full potential.

Lauren

Director of Training

Lauren earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida with concentrations in Math Education and Psychology. Her studies include advanced math topics such as Calculus I–III, Differential Equations, and Statistics. She joined Mathnasium in 2011 and has spent over a decade helping students grow through personalized instruction and encouragement. 

She believes math should be both challenging and enjoyable, not a source of frustration. Lauren is dedicated to training instructors and inspiring students to build lifelong confidence in math.

Jodi

Director of Education

Jodi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Math from Hope College and a secondary teaching certificate. She also earned a Master’s degree in Math Education and a Specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Teacher Leadership from Piedmont College. She is also a certified gifted instructor. 

With 20 years of teaching experience, Jodi has taught everything from 8th grade math to IB Math Studies. She loves watching students have breakthrough moments and believes every learner can succeed with the right tools, support, and guidance.

The Mathnasium of Tallahassee Instructor Team

The Mathnasium of Tallahassee math instructor team is passionate about math education and math tutoring. Our passion to inspire children, fused with our knowledge of math, creates extraordinary experiences for our students. We make math make sense. We make math fun! The process to become a member of the Mathnasium of Tallahassee instructor team includes: All of our math instructors go through an extensive interview process which includes an evaluation of their ability to work with students. It's one thing to be knowledgeable in math, but we ensure our instructors have the ability to breakdown and teach math to students in elementary, middle and high school. After successfully completing the interview, instructors must then pass a math test to validate their math resume. Before officially being hired, Mathnasium of Tallahassee instructors go through a background check. Upon joining the team, our math instructors go through an extensive training process that includes understanding the Mathnasium Method, best practices in math education, techniques for successful math tutoring, and proven strategies for working with students of different abilities to create a personalized math tutoring session. Whether the student is advanced and gifted, on level and needs help staying there, or needs help catching up, our instructors are trained to ensure children have a successful productive experience at Mathnasium of Tallahassee. Our instructor team is made up of individuals who are currently studying at Florida State University, Florida A&M, recent college graduates and professionals who are seeking to share their love of math and spend time after their full-time jobs working with students at Mathnasium of Tallahassee.
