Lisa Howell, Center Director

Lisa holds a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. She is very patient with children while she helps them learn math and always enjoys the moments when they "get it."

Favorite number: 3, because it is the only number that is both a Fermat ((2^2^n) + 1) and Mersenne prime ((2^p)-1).

Math joke: It is impossible to trisect an angle using a straightedge and a compass - partially because nobody knows where to find a compass anymore.

Unique attribute: Lisa has assembled her own computer.

Kama Friedman, Owner and Center Director

Kama received a BS degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1992. In 2010 she attained an MBA from the University of Maryland, University College. Having tutored many students in various mathematics subjects for more than 20 years she is looking forward to continuing her quest to help students love math. Children relate to Paul because of his ability to address their needs and communicate with them on their level. He is looking forward to working in a behind-the-scenes support role to help this location run smoothly and efficiently.
