Arlene
Owner
Arlene is a proud full-time mom with more than 12 years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, and campaign development across Southeast Asia. Her professional background includes launching more than 100 successful marketing campaigns with companies such as L’Oréal and Mondelēz International, where she was also recognized for helping foster a positive and collaborative work culture.
At Mathnasium, Arlene brings together her corporate experience and her commitment to supporting families. She enjoys building strong relationships with parents, instructors, and the local community while helping create an environment where students can grow in confidence and thrive in their math journey.
Marshall
Center Director
Marshall is originally from Garwood, New Jersey, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 2013 to 2018. Following his military service, he pursued studies in math education before continuing his education in finance at The Ohio State University.
Marshall brings a unique combination of discipline, curiosity, and enthusiasm to Mathnasium. He enjoys helping students build confidence, tackle challenges, and succeed in math. An avid chess enthusiast, Marshall also leads the Mathnasium Chess Club, where he helps students develop strategy, problem-solving skills, and a love for the game. His diverse background and commitment to continued learning make him a valued leader at the center.
Mike
Education Director
Mike holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in History from Michigan State University, along with a minor in Mathematics. After earning his teaching certification, he taught high school math in both Michigan and Illinois. Since 2018, Mike has brought his passion for education to Mathnasium in a variety of roles.
He enjoys helping students reach their potential in math and especially values Mathnasium’s individualized approach to learning. Outside of the center, Mike enjoys reading science fiction, watching classic films, and reflecting on one of his most memorable childhood experiences—witnessing the Apollo 8 launch.
Jane
Lead Instructor
Jane brings 38 years of experience as a math teacher and guidance counselor, with a special passion for working with upper elementary and middle school students. She especially enjoys those rewarding “aha!” moments when a challenging concept finally clicks and a student gains new confidence.
Outside of Mathnasium, Jane enjoys singing in a choir, solving puzzles, and working part-time as a caregiver. She views math as “God’s universal language” and is passionate about helping students grow not only academically, but also into confident, thoughtful, and responsible young people.
