Congratulations Seniors - It's Graduation Time

May 12, 2018 | Littleton

This week and next three of our outstanding instructors, Danny Terry, Reyna Felipa and Yi Cai, graduate and  move onto bigger and better adventures! All three are not only fabulous mathematicians and great instructors but young people I admire and with whom I enjoy spending afternoons and evenings. Yi will be our first graduating college senior, while Danny and Reyna are headed to the university next fall.

Danny graduates Saturday May 19 from D'Evelyn Jr / Sr High School where he was active with the drama and music departments as well as competing in an IronMan distance Triathlon and working a continuing internship with Kaiser. Two of Danny's fond memories at D'Evelyn was playing the Frankenstein Monster in the school's adapation of Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein and Warner Huntington III in the production of Legally Blond. Danny was active with the improv and interact clubs as well, frequently serviing as the MC for Talent Shows and other events. He'll be attending Colorado School of Mines this fall and we wish him all the best! Danny has been with Mathnasium of Littleton for nearly 2 years, and looks forward to returning to instruct once his life settles down a bit.

Reyna is also graduating from D'Evelyn Jr / Sr High School where she played the alto saxophone, volleyball and tennis. She has elected to attend Colorado State University this fall where her major is still undecided but will likely include photography which is a passion of hers. She is looking forward to going to Peru in the summer of 2019 to visit family and practice her Spanish. Reyna has been with Mathnasium of Littleton for 2 years and will continue to teach over the summer before she moves north to Fort Collins.

Yi is our first instructor to graduate from college while working with us! She graduated Friday May 11 from Colorado School of Mines where she majored in Computational Applied Mathematics. She student taught this last winter at Golden High School and we had our fingers crossed she'd go into teaching, however, after graduation, she will be interning with Lenovo in Wuhan, China and will continue her work as a business intelligence developer in HongKong, China. Yi used to play badminton competitively and was also a member of a band and played the bass guitar in China. She started her love for Zumba when she moved to the U.S. and looks forward to continuing that passion when she returns home.

Congratulations Danny, Reyna & Yi! We're all super proud of you and can't wait to see what your future holds!
