Maggie O'Connor Tremaglio

Center Director

Maggie O'Connor Tremaglio graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and has been involved in education ever since. While teaching honors algebra and pre-algebra for 12 years at Blessed Sacrament School, she successfully prepared students to pass advanced math placement tests for high school. In addition, Maggie taught computers to pre-k through eighth grade students, acted as the webmaster and in-house technical support for the school, created and moderated a math club, a peer tutoring club, and a Rubik's cube club. Maggie continues to be a part of the Blessed Sacrament Children's Theatre. Maggie's love of math and devotion to teaching led her to open a Mathnasium Learning Center. She recognizes the need to improve the math skills of our children so they can be successful in school now and in their future education and career endeavors. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Maggie has lived in Breezy Point, NY and North Tarrytown, NY. She currently lives with her husband and two daughters in Waterbury. Maggie looks forward to meeting you and explaining how the Mathnasium Method can help your child, catch up, keep up, and get ahead - in math, and beyond!

Sheila French

Lead Instructor

Sheila French is a graduate of J.F. Kennedy's SOAR program, where she expanded her love of math and assisted her peers in it. She is currently working towards her Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, where she began at R.I.T. and will be finishing at University of New Haven. She really enjoys working with students in pre-algebra though early calculus and seeing their understanding of math grow.

Ethan Fielding

Instructor

Ethan Fielding attended Cheshire High School. He attended Gettysburg College and pursued a degree in Music Composition with a minor in Computer Science. With this degree, he plans to write and produce music for movies, TV, and video games. Growing up in a household of math teachers and computer scientists, Ethan quickly grew to love all things math. He has plenty of experience teaching children in the fields of math, music, physics, and basic engineering, fully planning and hosting a 10-week music class “Building a Song from Scratch”, focusing on constructing instruments and writing a song to perform on said instruments.

Angelina Severino

Instructor

Angelina is currently a senior at John F. Kennedy High School. She is a member of the SOAR program, as well as Key Club, Upward Bound, and the Women Empowerment Club. She has always enjoyed math and science. Her experience helping her siblings with math homework inspired her to join our team. Angelina plans to attend college in order to pursue a career in a STEM field.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
