Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Andrew Smiciklas

Center Director
Andrew graduated from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He especially appreciated Greek philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, who all have a deep appreciation for mathematics. Andrew believes becoming confident in understanding math helps students become better learners overall. When we study math, we study universal concepts, so he also believes it can help us build healthy habits that show up in other areas of life as well. Andrew has worked as a tutor, as a teacher, and as a center director for another Mathnasium, so has a wide range of experience in different environments and skill levels to be able to help any student find success in their math studies. When not teaching math, he is spending time with his wife Thais and his cat Jeffrey, or trying desperately not to stop in the middle of his latest coding project. He is extremely happy to return to Mathnasium, the best place for students to become crazy about math!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
